If he pinch hits For Bader, even a double play gets a run in. When is this guy going back to managerial school?
Manager of the year he ain’t.
I like the mini winning streak. I don’t like relying on one guy for 90% of the offense
I was in Toronto recently, and I walked past the Rogers Centre on my way to the CN Tower. There are only a few player banners hanging outside the stadium. One of them is for Randal Grichuk!
Aré they gonna set the record for the most losses featuring a quality start?
It’s not just that they are losing games featuring a quality start. They are losing games where starting pitcher beats the criteria for a quality start on both IP and runs allowed. And it goes all the way back to those two consecutive 2-1 losses to Pittsburgh several months ago.
Another option with Bader is to use him as a late inning defensive replacement. We’re leading late, put him in center, or even if we’re losing
Even when Bader gets a hit, he figures a way to run us out of the inning. That said, if they’re writing off the season, put him out there everyday to learn how to hit and run the bases
Is Edman for real, or another flash in the pan? Either way, they gotta play him everyday until they find out.
Where is Tony LaRusa when you need him? This is a situation that cries out for batting the pitcher 8th and Carpenter 9th. At least until he gets out of this funk.
If they don’t think Martinez can field, he should be traded to an AL club.Speaking of AP, since he left StL his lifetime BA has dropped from .335 to .301. Will he keep playing after it drops to .300?
Regarding Hicks, his ERA is now 3.98. If the goal is win or contend for a championship, you need a closer with an era well under 3.00. Obviously there are other metrics that are equally important, but this is not going to hunt.
