Maybe when Edman comes back Crawford will get the boot instead of Siani. Or maybe I should say if Edman comes back at this rate.
I don’t understand that lineup either. We just had an off day, so how do Gorman and Winn need a day off already? I understand Herrera given the night game and being a catcher, but not Winn and Gorman. We really need to spread out our off days and not replace 1/3rd of the lineupbon getaway days.
Shoulder injuries take a while even after resuming okay to fully recover from. It could be that he is just now healthy as I recall him not looking 100% most outings last year. I’m also not surprised his BB% is even better so far as the many top pitchers continue to improve their control over the years.
2 series wins in a row. Hopefully we can win a few more in a row and claw our way back to .500.
Agreed with keeping Walker down even though I think he is showing signs of improvement. He needs to keep working on his approach and then let the power come
Gorman getting that hit put all of our against RHP starting lineup above a .200 batting average for now. Not amazing, but considering where we were a couple of weeks ago that is big progress
MLB really needs to improve the time New York spends on analyzing reviews. It feels like a couple of minutes every review attempt.

I wish the Peoria game had full game cast data to see what type of pitch mix Matthews has tonight. Palm Beach did have it tonight and Chen-Wei Lin was most 4 seamers the first time through. The 2nd time he was throwing more splitters/changeup (somethings show change others show split) and the slider. Although he was going to the 4 seamer most times with a runner on
Mikolas probably had his best game tonight and I’m surprised to see King out there for the 6th with Mikolas only at 79 pitches

Any word when Edman is back? It has been nice watching Siani play, but I don’t see him still in CF starting when Edman is back.
Gorman has power potential that simply can’t be taught. The ball jumps off his bat and he can hit it out anywhere

What was Herrera’s pop time there? It looked really slow to me. He stood full upright before starting his throw motion.
JJ, I think Miles stuff has been so hittable thisbyear that if he throws a lot of strikes, hitters swing away. He probably does need to nibble to be somewhat effective.
1TD Imanaga is a low 90s thrower who gave up a lot of HRs in Japan, so many scouts werent confident in him. Interestingly, ZIPs the projection system LOVED him. The Cubs have modified his game plan from low strikes in Japan to throwing high fastballs. Despite only being low 90s, his fastball has really good spin and appears to rise. He then has a splitter he releases from virtually the exact same spot and the combo bamboozles hitters. I recommend watching one of his games if you can.
At first base there’s still Baker who might be just as good as Goldschmidt at this point

The Athletic had an interesting article the other day that the gap between AAA and MLB pitchers is really growing, which means a lot of hitters look really good in AAA, but fail in MLB. Some reasons they think after analysis and talking to players like Matt Carpenter are the increasing levels of quality stuff in the majors, more analytics in the majors for pitchers to gameplay hitters, and a reduction in the org roster size meaning more AAAA types are being dropped.
