No Albert, I haven’t heard anything about Edman. I’m beginning to think he may be involved in some sort of covert operation…
May 18, 2024 at 7:16 pm #252693
jj-cf-stlParticipantAnd Miles loses his no-hitter 🙂
1-1May 18, 2024 at 7:16 pm #252694There goes the Mikolas no-no. Devers a 4th inning solo shot to tie matters up at 1.
May 18, 2024 at 7:16 pm #252695Devers is a great hitter, but they should really be playing him at 1B
May 18, 2024 at 7:17 pm #252696Great minds think alike, JJ.
May 18, 2024 at 7:18 pm #252697I don’t know if Siani the Raider’s has a connection to our Siani. Siani does have a brother Sammy in Pittsburgh org though
May 18, 2024 at 7:18 pm #252698
jj-cf-stlParticipantI’ll take your word for it Pugs🙃
May 18, 2024 at 7:20 pm #252699Yeah I was thinking they almost had to be with “Siani” being a rare last name and both being so fleet footed and professionally athletic, Albert.
😁 JJ
May 18, 2024 at 7:25 pm #252700Cards go 1-2-3 in the 4th in a 1-1 ballgame.
May 18, 2024 at 7:27 pm #252702Really good play by Winn
May 18, 2024 at 7:31 pm #252703
jj-cf-stlParticipantThere’s some team D. The Winn play saved a run.
May 18, 2024 at 7:31 pm #252704Arenado is hot tonight…..in the field. Boston strands a runner at 3rd in the 5th….still 1-1.
May 18, 2024 at 7:31 pm #252705I just looked it up and, according to my source, Cardinal OF’er Michael Siani is indeed a distant relative of former Oakland Raider wideout, Mike Siani. I also saw that Siani finished runner up to Franco Harris for the ’72 NFL ROY. He was also selected out of HS by 3 MLB teams, the Dodgers, Yankees and Rangers, but never signed and instead chose to attend Villanova and play football.
May 18, 2024 at 7:33 pm #252706At the start of his PA in the 5th, Siani is out hitting (BA .230) 4 of the other 8 in the lineup.
edit. And with a walk he still is.
May 18, 2024 at 7:36 pm #252709Siani walks to commence the Redbird 5th…..let’s stay with the action shall we?
Siani is nailed attempting to swipe 2nd base.
Donovan – Grounds out to Devers at 3rd on a bang-bang play at 1st.
Nooty – Strikes out swinging.
Cards 1
BoSox 1May 18, 2024 at 7:39 pm #252711Great investigative work with the Siani’s, TD! You could have been a private eye……a public eye too. I figured they just had to be related. It would have been a tremendous coincidence if not.
May 18, 2024 at 7:39 pm #252712He’s also scored 12 runs which is pretty good for only 74 AB’s.
May 18, 2024 at 7:40 pm #252713Mikolas probably had his best game tonight and I’m surprised to see King out there for the 6th with Mikolas only at 79 pitches
May 18, 2024 at 7:41 pm #252714John King pitching for St. Louis in the 6th.
Nice work by John as he has no 6th inning difficulties whatsoever.
May 18, 2024 at 7:41 pm #252715You guys realize we aren’t scoring runs because you aren’t eating catfish, right?
May 18, 2024 at 7:44 pm #252717Ha ha! You might be on to something, LACardFan. But I’m all fiddled out, as I devoured them all last night. Hey LACardFan…….would I be wrong in thinking you might want to join our Friday Night Catfish Fiddler Fan Club?
I still like my idea for starting a new restaurant featuring Catfish Fiddlers. With a huge outside dining area up on the 2nd floor, with a southern Fiddle player treating the patrons……and we’d call the restaurant “Fiddlers On The Roof”.May 18, 2024 at 7:47 pm #252718Burly with a bunt hit. Didn’t think I would see that ever. Very fitting since he rocketed the 2st two ABs balls right toward fielders
May 18, 2024 at 7:49 pm #252719Pugs, speaking of the club, I am afraid I misspoke. It was not catfish fillets I had but merely catfish nuggets. I should probably take a seat next to Carlson.
May 18, 2024 at 7:51 pm #252720Appreciate your honesty, Bling, but considering your vast baseball knowledge and likeability, either Catfish filets or nuggets gets you in…..you made the cut, Bling…..congrats!
May 18, 2024 at 7:52 pm #252721Burly had tried for bunt hit once before that I remember. It was unsuccessful and I believe all the comments concerning it were negative. I do applaud the strategy of not letting the infielders play way out there and be able to cut everything off.
