So what if Kelly hasn’t shown well in his cups of coffee? That people actually use his sporadic usage at the MLB level against him is ridiculous to me.
What is it? Three drafts for Flores and you want to get rid of him – where one of those drafts was bereft of a pick before the third round through no fault of his own? Because there are no prospects in the top 50? His top pick from his first draft is still only 19, all of the international signing you allude to are around that age and lower – else they are guys like Arozarena and Adolis Garcia who have both flashed MLB talent. Give us all a break and adjust your expectations.

Thomas St. Clair has had an interesting start to his career. He’s definitely old at Peoria, but his season line now sits at 30.1 IP, 11 hits, 0 home runs allowed, 5 ER, and 41 K. He’s cut his walk rate down considerably from last year so his 12 walks allowed still come to a WHIP of only .75. Overall, in 50.1 IP in the minors he’s only given up 22 hits in 53 IP with 73 K for a total WHIP of .92. I think he probably needs to be promoted.

It was Fiedler’s second HR this year as he hit one in his brief stint with Palm Beach. Good to see you posting again!
If words like “redistribute” aren’t allowed, how are we supposed to discuss “redistribution” that already takes place in the sport? How about stop policing words or setting boundaries for what is politically acceptable?
Piscotty didn’t have a sophomore slump. The second-half of his 2nd season produced a .767 OPS. He’s been mediocre for better than half of his career so far. This trend didn’t start this season, it started last season.
With regard to Fowler and defense, it’s never been considered good defense outside of Wrigley no matter where he was ranked in last season’s FA list. He’s only getting older and his injuries were numerous. So numerous that I’d question citing Pham as an injury risk over him.
What people seem to forget about Piscotty is that he wasn’t very good for the last half of 2016 either. Over 80 games from July 2nd, 2016 on, Piscotty had a .767 OPS with 78 k in 301 abs.
I’m pretty sure I remember Taveras for Profar banter and plenty of discussion about the organization having issues with Taveras at some level. Like with Shelby, Taveras wasn’t exactly the model prospect in a lot of ways early on. I don’t have links, just going off of memory. Continue shooting down bccran, however, it’s really quite annoying considering the skepticism seems personal rather than objective.
If you think he’s lying about a relative being a GM, then it’s kind of up to you to provide evidence of duplicitous nature on his part, otherwise I take it your objective approach is to cast doubt on people in general. And that I find counterproductive and foolish, especially when the subjects of doubt are dedicated posters in a small community.

Eliezar Alvarez went .879 last year in Peoria at about one year younger than league average age. Guess what he was worth to the Cardinals?

In 39 at bats over half of August and all of September in 2016, Pham looked like he didn’t belong. Of course, I was crying about his lack of playing time because I knew Pham was a player, but most fans were lambasting him and gave him no shot because of his lack of performance over those 39 at bats. My recommendation is to stop judging players who play sporadically. You are right, Carson hasn’t proven himself, but it’s not his fault. It’s his manager’s fault for not giving him an honest opportunity.
