That was then. This is now.
Cardinal Starters: That’s Top 3rd in a lot of categories.
Wins – 3rd
ERA – 7th
Whip – 9th
Avg – 7th
IP – 7th
WHIP – 9thWalks – 2nd —Didn’t say was all good.
Our starters are catching a lot of blame on here. I would say the problems are spread fairly equally. Inconsistent bullpen, and starting staff. Inconsistent offense. The problem flairs up when we play good teams. Goes down with the bad teams. Sounds awefully average so far.
Think about what it would be like being a starter for this team. Very little run support and guys in the pen that should still be at Memphis.
Sadly the dh brings a .116 hitter off the Cards bench. Have some respect for your career and retire. Or Schildt it is your job. Put an end to this. Starting to act like matheny/larussa with the vets.
Cards problem the same as many other teams. Is called launch angle, failure by hitters to address the shift. And relievers nibbling too much.
And when Dejong comes back:
Hate to see Carlson moved yet. Keep pressure off Sosa by hitting him late.
Edman -RF
Carlson – CF
Goldschmidt
Arenado
O’Neill
Molina
Dejong – SS
Sosa – 2BIn his defense he was just here to be bench help. He has been thrust on the field a lot. Agree he’s not ready. But later on I think he just might be. Got a long swing.
