The idea of vaccines being mandatory in Canada is incorrect. You are not forced in any way to have a vaccine in Canada. Canada has the same rules as the USA. If there were any unvaccinated Blue Jays, they would NOT be allowed to enter the USA. Exactly the same. Get informed.
Current Canadian border rules don’t allow unvaccinated foreign visitors to enter the country without special exemptions. A special status for unvaccinated athletes, which allowed them to cross the border in 2021, expired in January, the newspaper reported.

I can see the Cards trading Walker, Winn, Hicks and perhaps Tink Hence. They don’t fit the Dewitt mold.
It seems to me that the decline in offense is at least partly due to the emphasis on the extremes

I had plantar fascitis for a few years. After my years of playing sports. A podiatrist, a very good looking gal I may add, had me get custom orthotics to wear. Took some getting used to but I wore them for 15 years up until I retired. Took about 2 years to heal the problem. Was very painful at it’s worse. I’m sure he has top folks looking at it, though not as good looking, it may cost him the rest of this season though.
If we do NOT trade for Soto does anyone suspect that sends a message to Arenado? And then Arenado opts out after this season?
And if we do trade for Soto does anyone believe that will be enough to convince Arenado to stay?
On the first one that depends on if they make no moves or if they get some other high caliber player. If we do trade for Soto yes I see him staying. I think he probably stays anyway. Winning apparently isn’t that huge a thing for him after seeing recent developments.
He will have the occasional good outing followed by a stinker then repeat the cycle. The only consistent thing to count on is being on the IL.

So where has baseball improved with analytics.
They are hitting for a lower avg, fewer runs scored, fewer runs driven in, fewer homers, fewer hits, lower OBP, SLG, OPS, Striking out more, hitting into more double plays, stealing fewer bases, not getting caught as much n those stolen base attempts, grounding into more double plays.
We need a Pitcher or three. No Soto can’t pitch. But we also need hitters. And unless your Pitcher is Ohtani he can’t hit. The needs is just as bad there. So to me this team is a mess. If they did go get help it would probably be an old vet pitcher that has been done for years and another weak bat like Dickerson. The problem is above.

These are old school stats I know. But explain to me what analytics has done for the Hitters. They are hitting for a lower avg, fewer runs scored, fewer runs driven in, fewer homers, fewer hits, lower OBP, SLG, OPS, Striking out more, hitting into more double plays, stealing fewer bases, not getting caught as much n those stolen base attempts, grounding into more double plays. So someone please explain to me how baseball has improved with the new analytics. Has the shift made that big of a difference. That would explain some but not all. That doesn’t affect a fly ball. OF’ers have always shifted. Maybe I picked the wrong year it was at the bottom of the screen. May look and see if it was just that year.
I’m seeing other Teams with similar results. I’m not blaming the analytic angle, but yes I am. These hitters should be better than hitters of the past and I’m not seeing it. Then again I haven’t looked at the stats from the past to compare. I’m too busy being retired.
No better than Romine and Knizner have been doing I would be letting Hererra get more time. He can’t hurt them anymore than this. Of those three he is the one that has a shot to become the replacement.
Bling by middle of the lineup you mean Goldy right. He has our only hits. Need others to step up. Our Pitching and hitting need help. Maybe this is the inning.
This is looking like one of those games we have seen all too much this last month. Mahle looking like Greg Maddux out there.
