KeepComingBackParticipantChokeAnado pulls the ball to the 3rd baseman when all he needs is anything the other way. What a pathetic at bat.

KeepComingBackParticipantIm putting this division chase on Goldy, Arenado, and Mo. Time to put up.
KeepComingBackParticipantWhy yes, Dom, he can. He pitched for East Carolina. But the Cardinals knew he was the next Babe Ruth and had him abandon his pitching and focus on his Ruthian persuit.

KeepComingBackParticipantLongish read but well worth it.
KeepComingBackParticipantBurly reminds me of Babe Ruth.

KeepComingBackParticipant100% Blingboy. They wont even do the bare minimum.

KeepComingBackParticipantThe last 3 games have been hard to watch (or listen to). At this point, the question for me is are the Cardinals willing to do what it takes to try and jumpstart this lethargic offense. And we all know what that is.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m not complaining about Goldy anymore. There’s no point. They won’t even move him down. If they wouldn’t bench Carpenter in the middle of his suckness that last year, they aren’t benching Goldy. He and Arenado both are worthless in any critical game situations. Go Cardinals.
KeepComingBackParticipantHerrera off IL and optioned to Memphis.
KeepComingBackParticipantThose poppers sound like a solid move there Bling.
KeepComingBackParticipantPugs-No catfish anywhere near. But Mrs. KCB loves Culvers fish sandwhiches and so do I. So we will go that way. Cheese kurds on the side with horseradish sauce. Malt vinegar on the fish sandwhich. Marshmallow creme concrete. Maybe get the percolator out and have a nice cup of percolated Starbucks Dark Roast when i get home so i dont sleep thru the game. I worked the last 2 days. I have a smart tv. Should be able to just click on Apple TV and go to sports. I sure hope we stomp those little bears.

KeepComingBackParticipantYea Bling it didn’t go our way. Both of those games could have been won with either a little better pitching or a little better hitting. Take your pick. I’ve been off work since last Tuesday and am returning today, so that’s what I’m whining about. I already told them I’m not working very hard anymore so take what you get. A sweep of the Cubs would take care of everything.

KeepComingBackParticipantIve seen Graceffo in person. My recollection is good mid nineties fastball command.

KeepComingBackParticipantThe only thing I’ve ever stopped doing that I still miss is smoking cigars. Its been well over a 1/4 century, and if i close my eyes I can still fèel that big black cigar between my lips as my mouth gets numb and the wonderful aroma fills the room. So now i just have to live my life vicariously thru Rat. Im quite sure i could have a 100$ a week habit in no time.

KeepComingBackParticipantYou know, Rat was singing Burly’s praises long before Shady came a calling in these waters. Yet Shady gets all of the credit for him…..go figure. But you don’t see Rat complaining about it, which is testament to Rat’s character.
Burly tore up aaa. You would have to be a blind man to not see he had a tremendous hit tool. With that said, many questioned if he could hit well enough in mlb to justify his below average everything else. Its true Shady believed in him and loudly shouted that fact to anyone who would
Listen. I think Shady probably needs the recognition a lot more than Rat does.July 10, 2024 at 1:30 pm in reply to: StL 2024 Gm #93 thread – Tue, 7/9 vs. KC – ppd to Wed 7/10 G1 #259817
KeepComingBackParticipantI think Shady may be on to something with this Burleson.

KeepComingBackParticipant“I thought Fermin played for us?”
Their Fermin reminds me some of another “Freddie” that played for the Royals – Freddie Patek.
Freddy was the Royals first shortstop. Former Cardinal Cookie Rojas was on that team as well. I lived in Independence, home of Harry S. Truman at that time. I saw them all at old municiple stadium on Brooklyn Ave frequently. There was no parking and the locals turned their front yards into parking spots to make xtra $. Those were the days.

KeepComingBackParticipantThere’s plenty of at bats for Herrera at DH next year. I would trade him, GScott, for value. Im not giving him away. We need a rh bat.

KeepComingBackParticipantStaying healthy is doing nothing Bling. But there isn’t a team out there who wouldn’t bolster their pitching if given the opportunity.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf i had time i would read thru this thread at all the ways to fix the Cardinals. My own replies would probably make me laugh the hardest.
I’m an honest guy and never want to be hypocritical. So i will make it clear I was 100% behind a rebuild. Not complete but i was’nt for signing Sonny Gray and all for moving any of our veteran players. Walker Winn Gorman were the only guys I wouldnt have traded.
So here on July 10 I find myself taking a day off of work to watch a team I’m fully invested in. Isn’t baseball a funny game. We were rapidly on our way back down the toilet. Now we are perhaps a player or 2 away from serious contention. And the way they’ve done it is astounding. If you could have looked at Goldy and Arenados production decline, who would have believed we were 4 games behind the division lead and 23 in the league in runs scored with a negative rs/ra of around 30.
I have watched enough of this to understand that we are an injury or 2 to our pitching staff from everything falling apart. But I’ve also watched enough of this to understand this team has gelled and has that special something aside from metrics and anylitics that could carry us into a fairytale postseason. So maybe we need a new thread “What’s it gonna take to keep the Cardinals rolling” -
