Chavis just returned to playing because he served a 80 suspension for PEDS.The kid is supposed to b a solid hitter with power and average defensively at 3B.If Cards felt the risk of Chavis getting busted again (1 year suspension I think) was very unlikely to ever happen then why not take a chance and see if Boston would trade him.Red SozX have another top prospect in High A ball (Bobby Dalbec) for 3B so they have another option a couple years down the road.

If the Cards trade ONeill (the best power prospect the Cards have had in years) the FO would have to be dumber than a dogturd. You want to trade OFs fine...trade Adolis Garcia or Randy Arozarena..both are Cuban and would have some appeal to the fan base.A.Garcia has been hot lately so see if he is making TB take interest.Preferbly Pham is traded since Fowler is untradeable.Smart baseball GMs dont trade their systems top power prospect unless the situation is very desperate.(Seattle last year).Cards are not in desperation mode.If Cards trade O`Neill without giving him a fair chance for a extended period of playing time it would show complete ignorance and a total lack of foresight.

Luke did a good job coming off the bench last season and this season.Wish him well in NY.Shreve seems like a isable Lefty arm and Gallegos another young Righty arm with some LMLB experience.Good job by FO/MO in trading a limited asset for 2 guys who help the bullpen.I still dont think Cards are done making changes.I figure that is 39 on 40-man roster.I dont understand why Sherriff is still not on 60-DL (Brian said he would have to be promoted and then put on DL if my memory is correct). So do it.I wonder if Layne could possibly get a shot or maybe Patrick Wisdom or Rangel Ravelo or Adolis Garcia for the last roster spot on 40-man?

I sure hope FO/MO are not done making changes. It`s time to make some moves to the position players.JMartinez,Pham,Gyorko,Ozuna,Wong should all be concerned about maybe being shopped and what about Bud Norris?Get something for him instead of just losing him at the end of the season in Free agency.

Baders great defense and speed make him a keeper IMHO.He is actually hitting decently vs RHPs average wise.Needs work on his contact issues but I say keep him.Seattle does have quite a few young OF guys Heridia,Haniger,Andreoli, so they might not need another OF guy.
I still think Pham should be the one traded. Then Ozuna.Fowler is untradeable and Bader is a keeper IMHO.I like Ozuna and like everybody expected more than what he has produced.Plus he is just 27-28 years old.logically Pham makes the most sense to trade IMO.He is the oldest tradeable OF.he had a good partial season last year but he has a long inju ry/eye issue history but he does have some pop.I just think he is the easiest to replace.I feel Bader can give you the same thing Pham does.Trade Pham and bring up O`Neill and play him 5 starts a week swing between LF,CF,RF with Bader playing most starts C,Fowler getting some starts and in September bring up Mercado.
If Ozuna gets traded gets traded and Pham stays (I hope not) then bring up O`Neill plug him in LF and give him 50 starts.Mercado can be called up and get experience .

Trade Pham to Cleveland -needs OF help..
Trade cJMartinez to Yankees-Need a DH and the bat plays while the glove doesn`t-
Trade Gyorko to Boston or Astros-Boston RH pop for sortwall.Ditto Houston
Trade Ozuna to Philllies or BlueJays- Philly a hitters ballpark.Houston can always use another bat .

I wonder if Holland would accept going to Memphis if he goes unclaimed by any team? Also wonder if Cecil can be traded for a low level prospect or whatever.Way too early to give up on Leone and I would like to see if Gregerson can be a useful middle inning bullpen guy.Lyons is another question marlk………since Lefty arms are so valued would he be worth holding on to or will the FO decide to trade him for peanuts/whatever they can get.

Montero is probably 2 years at least from seeing Stlouis.Evan Mendoza could possibly get a late callup next season if he ups his offense at AA this year and can do that next season in AAA.I would think Wisdom will leave in FA after this season if he doesn`t get added to 40-man before this season is over.

Adolis is on a tear but he is older than ONeill,Mercado,nd Arozarena and Lane Thomas. He had several years experience in the Cuban leagues. As mentioned his K/BB rates is poor,His OBP is under .300 .Like you guys I think he is a 4th OF right now.Still it is nice to see some fireworks from his bat .Last night ONeill was 12 with a 3B,2Ks,2BB.

CC-the reason I want to hold on to the young SPs is because of the Wacha injury history,CMart having several bumps and bruises this season.Mikolas has been very good so far but what if he suddenly reverts to pre-2018 form? Also no sure thing that Alex Reyes can come back and be a productive durable SP.

You make some good points CC.I agree..that Cards are not a playoff team…no matter what happens.1.Agree about Holland-I think he is a lost cause.Lyons-undecided..i think he needs to be sent down to try and regain his form..if he has to pass thru waivers.so be it..Slim chance he gets picked up by anyone.
    2.Agree
3.Why not see who is interested.
4.Don`t like it but I understand it.
5.Could be Munoz can be the supersub jack of all trades who plays everywhere and gets 400 ABs a season.
    6.Yes.
    7. yes
8.Yes.When O`neill does come up again he needs to gets regular playing time..not 1 or 2 starts a week and some pinch-hit ABs.
I will add this point also.
9.Do not trade any of the young SPs.

I like Markakis but trading young prospects for a mid-30`s OF having a career year is not good baseball thinking IMHO.Plus he will be a FA after the season.

FWIW-According to Cardstalk-MO on radio said to Bernie Micklaz that he isnt comfortable talking about Hudson situation because there will be several moving parts (changes) the next several days.Hope some moves are going to be made and it seems something will be done. How much,Who and to where is anybodys guess.

Brian- A question if you please? Tommy Layne LP- he is doing quite well at Memphis and I know he isn`t on the 40-man roster.Do you think Cards will add him if he continues his good work or do you think they will continue running Lyons out as their LHP in bullpen? Tyler Webb is on the 40-man so I would think he gets a Septem ber callup or earlier if Lyons implodes more or gets a Sore arm or whatever.

I like Evan Mendoza 3B-I think of Kenny Reitz when I think of him.Glove good,Bat ?.He has time to grow and mature to gain some pop.Even if he plays good defense and hits .270 with 25 2Bs 5-10 HRs 60-70 RBis and good contact skills to go with top notch defense I think Cards could live with that.
Lane Thomas is quietly putting up some good numbers Power/speed . also at AA.Cards wealth of young OF prospects just keeps rolling on.Lane Thomas good season kind of offsets Adolis Garcias poor showing so far this season.A. Garcia has decent power numbers but his .BA,OBP,and BB/K rates are subpar.I would have to think ONeill is our #1 OF prospect,Mercado #2 OF prospect,Arozarena #3,Lane Thomas #4.Adolis Garcia #5
