I was in Memphis saturday and thought Matt Pearce was impressive on the mound. Didn’t know Lino was moved up so was surprised to see him behind the plate. I’d seen him in Springfield earlier. Diaz was not impressive in the field or at the plate. Right off the bat in the first he booted a hot bounder up the middle that hit him square in the glove. Ball off his bat had no carry. He didn’t seem to be playing with the energy and attitude I would have expected. Maybe the heat had something to do with it, but other guys seemed more energetic. I guess I had assumed Sam Tui would be the 9th inning guy but not so. He came in earlier.
Patrick Wisdom was the 1B coach, looking right into the evening 98 degree sun. Must be in the dog house. The most popular pre-game autograph was Stubby.I cannot find any way to get my reply to nest under the one I am replying to. I can only post a comment that adds on at the bottom.
Yeah, I would think the Marlins franchise is worth more without that contract.
It would be interesting to ask Mo if he considers the team to be competitive.
I don’t do audio recordings for all the same reasons I don’t do videos. I’ve missed a lot of content here, in the form of interviews that I would find interesting, but have never been able to work in more than a sprinkling of the audio content despite many attempts.
Maybe people who grow up watching youtube videos and whatnot prefer the video format, and I suppose it is a way to spew more content with less man hours. That seems to be what many things are all about.
BDW only ponied up for Holliday because of the need to protect Pujols in the lineup. He would not take on Stanton even if the team was that one piece away, which is not the case.
Remember we are talking about a guy who is worth an A ball prospect. If he can stay on the field, he will probably get hot again for a couple weeks. That’s how its gone with him. His improved physique, if it sticks, may help some, but it clearly didn’t amount to popping open a can of whoop ass or anything.
Losing teams rarely replace their GM so graciously. Now, can they promote Mad Mike to President of Field Operations?
