That came apart quickly. 3-1 Padres on a flare to right that Walker just couldn’t get to.
The issued here with May is the inconsistencies. If he can fix that he has mid starter potential. If not he’s likely a 5 on most teams due to the howitzer.

May 9, 2026 at 3:45 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #39 thread – Saturday, May 9 at San Diego Padres #306997Why is Tommy boy starting instead of Fermin or thr lefty chicken legged Scott 2?
A deeper look is Scott is terrible against righties this season and Tommy played up the 5 at Carlsbad High.
May 9, 2026 at 3:36 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #39 thread – Saturday, May 9 at San Diego Padres #306996My thinking is Noot returning may instigate a bit of roster movement, MLB and maybe AAA.
You would think Scott is odd man out starting when Noot comes back but things can happen with the roster due to various circumstances in thr next 3 weeks. One instance that could effect the roster is the rumored improvement (don’t necessarily buy it) of one Ivan Herrera behind the dish. You would think if he is vastly improved that much that Pozo would be expendable. I mean Yohel hasn’t played since April 26th and with the depth of catching in our minor league system. A 40 man move could be made by simply giving Pozo his walking papers. Just spitballing a bit.
May 9, 2026 at 3:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #39 thread – Saturday, May 9 at San Diego Padres #306993If they take the full 20 day rehab assignment then Noot might not be back until June. Remember this rehab assignment is his Spring Training.
May 9, 2026 at 1:04 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #38 thread – Friday, May 8 at San Diego Padres #306971I can’t help but to laugh at this silly new X-WL column in the standings
You watch the standings in early May?
May 8, 2026 at 11:42 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #38 thread – Friday, May 8 at San Diego Padres #306969We have a split. Let’s win one more and get a nice start to thr west coast swing.
May 8, 2026 at 6:33 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #38 thread – Friday, May 8 at San Diego Padres #306905I’ll be able to watch the rest of the game when I get out of work.
May 8, 2026 at 5:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #38 thread – Friday, May 8 at San Diego Padres #306896Normally don’t confess my sin meals but having a Philly Cheese steak sandwich and fries with a big bowl of ham and beans soup with turnip greens and six pack of Stag. I’ll pay for it tonight and morning. Predicting Cards 7 to 5.
You will indeed. Ha!
If they don’t come crashing down I’m fine. We have our own team to worry about. Right now things are OK.
May 8, 2026 at 12:06 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #37 thread – Thursday, May 7 at San Diego Padres #306845We squandered opportunities to score late but we sealed the deal. Good way to start a series.
Matthew Boyd out for a few weeks (presumably). Cubs starting pitching is looking a tad thin.
May 5, 2026 at 1:11 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #35 thread – Monday, May 4 vs. Milwaukee Brewers #306672This club reminds me some of recent Brewer teams. Had Mo eased up a bit on his quest to win now and send out younger guys for older guys, we might have had more of these kind of teams in the recent past.
What did bowtie due but try to win? He’s damned if he does trade the talent for vets and if he doesn’t then he and Dewitt didn’t do enough. Hey it fell apart in 2023. What they relied on fell flat.
What do you mean by teams? Young teams that take time to rebuild? Right now you’re seeing the extreme but what you haven’t seen and who knows what this teams is really about is the pitfalls. We haven’t even really had many injuries yet. The pitching IMO is not great. Will it shape put into a solid staff and pen. No one knows yet.
May 4, 2026 at 9:49 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #35 thread – Monday, May 4 vs. Milwaukee Brewers #306669I can live with Leahy as a 5 inning pitcher if everyone else is a 6 inning pitcher. And if the bullpen continues to come together
Only issue is the rest of our starters don’t always go 6 innings.
We have to use 5 bullpen guys to seal the deal. Milwaukee had to dig deep as well. Let’s see how this plays out. We could have a Bruhil, Stanek, Svanson and maybe some Shuster sprinkles for a game this week.
May 3, 2026 at 3:50 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306573Both streaks are over. The NL west losing streak and the cards 6 gemer. Most of the 36K get sent home a loser.
Good to win a series. Doesn’t start well with Leahy on the bump on Monday against Milwaukee.
May 3, 2026 at 3:33 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306570Winn blunder costs us and it’s 4-1.
May 3, 2026 at 3:24 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306568Walker scores from 1st on a Burly single. 3-1.
May 3, 2026 at 3:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306566And the NL West losing streak is at 20 with a TB walkoff. Too bad it likely ends at Busch Memorial Stadium in a few moments.
May 3, 2026 at 2:48 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306560May didn’t have great stuff but he got through 6.
Yeah Im guessing mail it Marmol with throw out some combo of Shuster, Svanson. Bruihltil. Lol
I dont want another walker where they moved him a little too soon but future def looks good if he continues to rake.
If he’s shown the ability to hit high A pitching and defends well and has nothing else to prove then you send him to AA no later than mid season.
May 3, 2026 at 2:32 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306556Freeman with a 2 out single. 3-0
May 3, 2026 at 2:23 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306555Another 2 out rally falls short as Pages lines out to left.
May 3, 2026 at 2:06 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306554Can’t capitalize with 2 outs. This time we didn’t run out of the inning.
May 3, 2026 at 1:47 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #34 thread – Sunday, May 3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers #306552Not a great call to run us out of the inning.
