With Ozuna, Dexter, Jose all hot I expected O’Neill to get sent to AAA to get consistent at bats. Maybe still will when they need the 5th starter activated in coming days.
I had to reload the app from the App Store to get the upgrades. Then the 2019 games appeared.
When I updated opening day the 4th it said the upgrade had been available for 2 or 3 days. So it might not have been ready back in March.
Since it was Carlson’s big day a few additional comments on him:
1. Watching some on milb.tv last night the 2 times he was retired was a nice play by the ss up the middle on a ball that looked like a hit off the bat. And a line drive to the track in right that was caught. Swing looked a lot like the HR in the 9th. Was close to a 5 for 5 night.
2. His swing from the left side looks good. To me it seems to have a little Jim Edmonds uppercut to it. Especially in the Texas League I think we are going to see the power totals jump this year.
3. No reason to abandon this early, but what I have seen in spring training and the first week when he hits from the right side, it would not surprise me that he gives up switch hitting before he reaches the majors.Quick 4th for Wacha, pitch count at 77. Chance again to get thru 5 innings. Which was looking unlikely in the third.
In Dexter’s defensive, it has been a long time since he has made many left hand turns around first base. I am sure it was a strange feeling as he got out there in no man land.
Milb box score has Drew Robinson as a bench player for Memphis tonight. Mistake or He has been sent down with Jedd G activation tomorrow.

My opinion Yadi got to cute with the pitch calling to Kang goes 3-0 calling for 3 sliders to start him off. To many breaking balls called for. Let Reyes establish the fastball.
3-2 pitch to Kang was terrible call by umpire.
Check swing call on Schuck was another blown call by umpire.
Reyes last pitched Sunday, not used Monday not used tonight in a close game. Is he available?

As for Miller very sharp tonight. Happy to see that. Was and still am concerned health wise he is risk to fall into overspend for reliever past his prime category. See Holland, Gregerson, Cecil track record of FA reliever signings.
Leone with another effective outing. He is off to a good start this season. Looking more like the guy I was expecting to see when he came over last season.

Thoughts who get the call at AA and AAA tomorrow night?Regarding O’Neill and Martínez, I am interested how they will get worked into the lineup when all 5 are healthy. Came into this series thinking maybe 1 start each in Milwaukee. Going to guess 1 today and 1 tomorrow. With Ozuna and Fowler each setting 1 game.
Then figure maybe O’Neill get one start in PA for Bader.
Without injury will say for the road trip 2 starts for O’Neill and 1 for Jose is my projection.
Not trying to add to your workload, but as you can see by my questions, I recall enjoying the write ups last year and came looking for them this year.
I would be interested.
Brian you rolling out the rest of you minor roster projection articles by level soon? Are you are doing that again this year, do you have a schedule mapped between now and Thursday?
Regarding Ronnie Williams – saw on Twitter one of his tweets along the lines of him being excited for the season to get started with a hashtag #PBCardinals.
Going to assume they are going to start him off at high A.
1. Hudson – ROY candidate
2. Hicks – becomes lock down closer
3. Flaherty – top 5 in cy young votingI recognize and recall you mentioning the possibility Brian. The list of high schoolers or international prospects that began their first fill season in Peoria is very small. I can recall:
Carlson
Montero
Flaherty
WoodfordAlso thinking Kelly and Sierra as 2 that started there and then had to take a demotion to return later.
Gorman making it is his debut season. Assume is on the list this season.
All names that have went on to make it to the majors or appear on the road to the bigs.
I am sure there are others and some that fell off the prospect map. But in general a good sign of the future prospect status of the individual to be someone moving up the ranks.
