Hopefully we can win at least two of three in this series. Things get tough next week with road series at both Washington and Chicago.

I don’t know if I can stomach watching Yasiel Puig lick his bat. Stupid crap like that makes me want to quit watching baseball. But I guess as long as he don’t lick his balls that’s the main thing.

Castillo is their best pitcher right now. 1.47 ERA over 5 games but W-L is 2-1. That says get to their bullpen as early as we can.

Castillo is pitching tonight (Thursday) against the Braves. We will miss him this series.

Thanks for the heads up. I have updated the Friday starter above. Saturday and Sunday are unchanged.

Does O’Neill get activated today? If so, who is sent down? Thomas? Munoz?

Remember they are carrying an extra hitter until Wacha’s spot in the rotation comes up next. So whichever hitter doesn’t go down now, probably will by Tuesday.

It doesn’t seem like the starters are going deep enough yet to enable them to fall back to just seven relievers.

Weather in St. Louis looks clear. Looks like this one will be played. Reds had almost a three hour delay in Cincinnati last night. Plus we’ve had a ton of rain here in SW Indiana the last couple of days. I have some water in my basement too. And lucky me, my Shop-Vac doesn’t seem to be working right.

Anyway, I’ll be tuned in for this one. Have half a cigar in the early innings, then a can of Sirloin Burger soup and a piece of banana crème pie in the middle innings. Then finish the cigar in the late innings. Then after that it will be time for Barnaby Jones. Then finish the evening off by catching the end of the Cubs @ Arizona game.

well hopefully the bats are still alive or mikolas is throwing shut out ball cause we still don’t have any defense in the outfield.

I like the everyday lineups. I don’t like it when the lineup changes all the time.

I would still switch Goldschmidt and DeJong, however.

And I just checked. I don’t have a can of sirloin burger soup. Might have to make me a cheeseburger and fries. Or a thick center cup rib chop in the air fryer. I’ve got plenty of cigars though.

With Ozuna, Dexter, Jose all hot I expected O’Neill to get sent to AAA to get consistent at bats. Maybe still will when they need the 5th starter activated in coming days.

That will be an interesting call, vegas. To me, it looks as if it could be either Munoz or O’Neill – unless the starters start pitching deeper into games.

I was worried if Rat had a plan B in case his food pantry was void of any scrumptious sirloin burger soup….and luckily those concerns can be put to rest. In honor of our esteemed friend, I’m plagiarizing Rat’s dinner menu and am also indulging in a pregame indulgment of the aforementioned sirloin burger soup, chicken frickasy, banana creme pie, foot long Cuban delight and to top things off, after game episodes of Barnaby Jones and Perry Mason. I’m calling this one 8-4 Birds with JMart finding the cheap seats not once…..but twice. Go Cards!

Molina has quietly built a 13-game hitting streak, and the Cards had two on in the second, but they are behind 1-0 behind a Reds HR by Eugenio Suarez against Mikolas in the first.

Mikolas did not fool Votto. Another HR and the Reds are up 4-0 in the fifth.

The Cards are not hitting with runners on base. Seven have already been stranded through five innings.

And another five-inning start for the rotation. Helsley in for the sixth.

That was deflating … two run homer after scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh.
