Look at that advertisement for Fredbird Plush……I could picture it sitting right in between Rat and Whitey HerDog on the couch taking in the ballgames. If Rat plays his cards right then maybe we should pitch in and get him one for Christmas.
I guess we have no choice but to trot Stanek out here to pitch the 8th…..poor Oli…..and poor us. Well maybe I’m being too hard on him and he’ll pitch well here……let’s hope.
Was hoping they would have brought that BB machine Thornton into this game. Only down a run here in the bottom of the 7th where The Ferminator opens the inning with a lazy fly ball to Happ in left……now JJ gets his teeth into one to right……and it’s long long gone…..tie ballgame.
PCA missed that Soriano high heat by a good foot. Yes I saw PCA’s 10th inning dinger last night, but there certainly are signs that he’s heading for a cooling off period. Nobody in this league has hot streaks as sizzling as PCA…..but no player has frigid streaks on par with him either.
I’d be looking east rather than west for a possible trade involving a St. Louis catcher. The ChiSox are in dire need of a receiver. I think Leonardo Abdiel Bernal would look mighty fanciful in a White Sox uni.

Gassy now 2-0 on the campaign. Bring Gassy in the game and good things magically happen.
Shucks! Gassy just threw flames on the fire and we’re down 2-0 in the 10th. We’re still just one swing away from tying this puppy though…..as long as they don’t tack on more tallies.
Just arrived home 15 minutes ago after a whirlwind trip to Cleveland. A walkoff win vs the cubbies would be a great welcome home present for the ol’ Pugarooski.
I don’t enjoy calling for people’s jobs to be eliminated, but Svanson needs to be sent packing up the Svanny River pronto. Do not…….and I repeat do not give up on Luis Enrique Gastelum yet. He’s just starting to get settled in……we’re all going to be very pleased with what Gassy brings to the table. And I love “The Ferminator” reference earlier in this thread by……I think by the esteemed LACardFan.
I think Burleson has evolved into a fine defensive 1st baseman. So much so that Goldy really hasn’t been missed. The age difference between Burly and Herrera is not sizeable. I would definitely not trade Burly to give way to Herrera manning 1st base.
Tough to say if PCA has another huge prolonged slump in him this year, but rest assured another one is most likely coming. He’s already experienced two in his short career. And these are not your garden variety slumps. They are so prolonged in length that “slump” really doesn’t adequately describe them. Now if he could just limit his yearly “super slump” to just a “slump”, his offensive numbers would literally be off the charts. Being a Cardinals fan, I hope this never occurs.
Hey Rat…….is there any possible rain storms in the greater Anaheim vicinity? We could use a big one.
As a kid I remember my mother serving up little round balls of raw steak at home for her Bridge groups. I think they were on toothpicks and then they would dip them into these different kinds of brown mustard. Sounds pretty raspy to me. Maybe they didn’t have many food illnesses like we have today?

I figured you for a bloody red rare type and not a well done, Rat. Studies have shown that for males, how one likes their meat is in direct correlation to how tough they are. The more rare you like it, the tougher person you are. Basically, you wouldn’t want to be side-by-side in a fox hole, with the enemy charging in your direction, with someone whom likes their meat well done. Like Rat, I too used to order my steaks well done. But then I decided to take action and do something about it. So I started pumping iron and jogging with a 25lb. plate in each arm at night in this open field near my house. Now I order my meat medium rare, with aspirations to one day go totally rare.
