Abbott has been pitching well as of late. This one will also be tough to win. Reds have a pretty good young starting rotation.

And meteorological conditions, according to the Doppler Radar, show all clear throughout the entire midwest.

And din-din today is the usual Sunday feast. A ribeye steak on the grill, mashed potatoes, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Consumption begins around the time of first pitch from Sportsman’s Park. And then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar. And Whitey Herdog will be on the couch with me during all of this.

That big fly from Herrera had a lot of hang time. If he sprinted he could have made it to 2B by the time it got out of the park

Misiorowski may be having another historic game today against the Rockies. 11 Ks with no base runners in 4 innings so far

Make that 12 Ks in 13 batters

I see the unthinkable happened, Blaze took a walk. Guy must have been peppering the backstop.

Leahy got through 6. Nice start in the almost unbearable heat.

Place is almost empty. 119 heat index will do that.

He does so many things wrong. Except he gets rbi’s and doesn’t strikeout. All other offensive #’s are horrid.

He has 1 homerun. But 25 hits and 22 rbi’s.

I see Leahy broke 100 pitches for the first time. Now he needs to turn that into more than 6 innings. 19 games started so far. He keeps answering the bell. The Cardinals org has to find a way to get better results from these type of guys who can stay on the mound. I know it is hard teaching a guy to be better, but it is impossible to teach a guy to be healthier. That latter is what they seem intent on trying to do.

Man, Misiorowski’s line today – only went 5 inning but had 12 Ks and no walks.

As a buddy and I used to say back in the day as kids, the guy is “too good for the league.”

Pretty impressive for misiorowski. I just wonder what guys back in the day would have done if they only had to pitch 5 innings.

I am not a fan of the big “STL” hats. They seem sort of amateurish to me.

But we have the meat of the order up in the bottom half, Ol’ Abner has done it again.

Putting Svanson in the game was giving the game away almost intentionally.

    It is what it is.

The meat got something going, but we don’t have much in the lower half of the lineup.

And the nerf noodle bats couldn’t get it done.

That last ab flat out sucked by Winn. Fermin long fly out to end it.

    5-3 is our final.

Bats that have gone cold and a bullpen that couldn’t get a little league team out. What a mess this team is.

Why use Svanson there when you are tied at home? Was there no one left in the pen besides O’Brien?

Why is Svanson even still in StL? Just try anybody off the DFA list / AAA / independent leagues – they could not be worse.

Cardinals starter pitched well. Bullpen did good til extras. Really wasnt a bad pitch that gave up 2 of the runs in extra. . Just a better hit. Its the value of putting the bat on the ball vs striking out. Burly got a little one of those as well. The cardinals arent immensely better than the reds so overall a good matchup and game.
