Did I just detect the LA faithful conducting the dreaded “Wave”? That was so yesterday……make that yesteryear…..make that yesterdecade….make that yestercentury.
September 1, 2026 at 11:00 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317805Hey Jnevel? Wouldn’t that be something if Saggese hit 3 bombs tonight. The odds on that had to be in the neighborhood of hitting a Poweball jackpot…..but seriously he’s pretty talented and could now be starting to come into his own at this level. Future looks so bright for our team that you almost need to slap on some shades to safely watch their games.
September 1, 2026 at 10:55 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317804Betts doubles in a run with 2 outs and McGreevy is approaching 90 pitches here in the 5th. Wouldn’t that be a crying shame if he couldn’t finish this frame and not get the “W”. But he does as he induces Muncy to routinely fly out to Church in center to retire the side with minimal damage…..10-4 .
September 1, 2026 at 10:46 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317802Pugs, you might have gotten 500-1 odds on a bet of Saggese going deep twice.
Those odds sound about right, but there’s only two people on this planet that I know of who would have the insight and cajones to lay down that kind of a wager…….and their names are Bobby Reed and Jnevel.
September 1, 2026 at 10:42 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317801Alexander Victor Vesia center stage as the Cardinals bat here in the top of the 5th in a 9-3 St. Louis ballgame. Our old pal Aroz has been sizzling red hot at the dish, as he whacked another long one (22nd) in Seattle’s victory tonight and Paul Skenes continues to pitch just like your average Joe, as he surrendered 5 earned runs in his 4 2/3 innings of labor in Pittsburgh’s 13-12 triumph over Frisco……oh boy oh boy Saggese just went yard for the 2nd time tonight…..10-3 Birds and we are fastly approaching “call off the dogs time” as make no bones about it…..we’re embarrassing these guys in front of their home folk.
September 1, 2026 at 10:26 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317799Walker ramrods a 409 ft. laser into the center field seats with a mate aboard…..9-3 Good Guys. One more rbi and our All Star Derby Home Run King will be at the century mark for the first time in his career…..but certainly not the last……now Baez just misses a HR down the line in left…..inches foul.
September 1, 2026 at 10:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317798Oh no……soft fly to short right that results in a collusion between Walker and The Ferminstor…..off Walker’s glove and that empties the bases…..7-3……that’s a shame as McGreevy with a nice pitch to Betts that ends in disaster…..well not exactly “disaster” as we’re still up 4.
September 1, 2026 at 10:12 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317797Pitch count starting to mount for McGreevy(51) with 2 down and the bases juiced here in the Dodger 3rd.
September 1, 2026 at 10:09 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317796Funny stuff TD!
September 1, 2026 at 10:00 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317794Urias draws the free pass to load em up and I don’t know how much longer they can go with Lauer. Saggese lofts a nice sac fly to left making it 6-0.
7-0 Cards heading to the bottom of the 3rd. Not sure if Church will be credited with a hit and rbi or if it’s an E-4? Tough call.
September 1, 2026 at 9:53 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317793Leonardo! Two run scorching liner makes it 5-0 Birds here in the 3rd…..and looking for more.
September 1, 2026 at 9:45 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317792I sure could go for a Dodger dog right about now……maybe 2. Heavy onion and yellow mustard on one and onion, mustard, kraut and relish on the other. How’s that for a start to a wonderful din-din.
September 1, 2026 at 9:43 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317791It was the next 2 in the order, Bling…..Urias & Saggese with solo bombs. Cards up 2-0 heading to the 3rd.
September 1, 2026 at 6:53 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #139 thread – Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Los Angeles Dodgers #317784Cannot wait to see Leonardo Abdiel Bernal’s maiden ML game. I wonder what the odds are on Mr. Bernal equaling or even surpassing the offensive explosion that Joshua Baez put on display in his first ML game in Wrigley recently? Speaking of odds, I bet only in the neighborhood of 30-35 games a year. I’m very selective and careful with these wagers. At the risk of coming across braggadocious, I don’t lose often. Tonight I’m putting up $3300 to win $3000 on the over (8.5) for the Cards-Dodgers game.
And what was for din-din one may ask? Egg salad sandwich, baked beans drenched in vinegar, Ruffles potato chips dipped into sour cream, red soda pop and for dessert it was 3 scrumptious Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies.
August 28, 2026 at 9:26 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317492Next to re-inking Paul DeJong, I think Mikolas might be the last ex-Cardinal Bloom would bring back, Bling……oh shoot I forgot the Packers game is on tonight.
Oops this isn’t the game thread. I wish we still had the ability to delete our own posts like we’ve enjoyed for years. Brian?
As much as I’d love to see Gassy, the only thing I want to see him doing tonight is munching on sunflower seeds out in the bullpen. With all of the appearances of late, Gassy would definitely run the risk of being gassed if summoned into this one.
August 28, 2026 at 9:07 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317488Baez did not look good in that at bat leading off the Cardinal 6th. No problemo…..he’ll go deep in his next at bat in the 8th.
August 28, 2026 at 9:04 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317487Enter Ryan Austin Fernandez. Let’s stay with the action shall we
Flores Jr. is caught looking to retire the side. We move along to the bottom of the 6th in a 3-1 St. Louis ballgame.
August 28, 2026 at 9:00 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317486With the count full, Reynolds first went fishing high and fouled it off and then went deep fishing low and struck out….Quinn needed that. The next batter up (Cruz) also goes down on strikes…..Quinn’s 7th K victim on the evening. Matthews looking like he could go another 6 frames. Gonzalez singles to left and they’re coming to get him. I think I would have gone one more batter with him.
August 28, 2026 at 8:52 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317485Sisk does his job by inducing a Church ground ball comebacker.
August 28, 2026 at 8:50 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317484Back-to-back 2 out singles by Walker and Fermin in the 5th will inspire a pitching change from the top step of the Pirates dugout. Sisk will enter as Jones exits.
August 28, 2026 at 8:42 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317483Pirates pick up a run in the 5th. Matthews at 86 pitches…..just 1 more frame out of him should work. 3-1 Birds.
August 28, 2026 at 8:23 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317478You’re totally nostalgic, KeepComingBack……like the rest of us around here. Looks like Yadi hasn’t missed many desserts lately as well…..I bet he could put away 5 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies in the blink of an eye…..and Church with the sac fly to center scoring Walker….3-0 Good Guys. Now Baez blisters a line double to left. As we previously mentioned, Baez looks locked & loaded for going on a hitting rampage.
August 28, 2026 at 8:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #136 thread – Friday, August 28 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #317476Triola atones for his defensive error…or “Das Boot” as the esteemed TD would say…..with a lead off line single to right, the Pirates first hit. But Matthews comes right back and sets down the next 2 Pirates before surrendering another base hit to right with Triola scampering around to 3rd. Soft line out to JJ to retire the side. ..2-0 Cards heading to the bottom of the 4th.
Matthews looking great……4 K’s and only the 2 hits…..pitch count a bit elevated at …..not sure….I think 65 give or take a pitch.
