Dierks, Todd & Adams. After looking at their 50 predictions from last year, how could anyone waste one second to see their projections for this year? I hate being negative, but it would be tough to intentionally do as poorly as this trio did.

Nice to see that you’re in full swing, like you usually are at this time of year, Nate.

One would think they could hire just one qualified woman to handle the message therapist, yoga instructor and mental therapist responsibilities instead of 3 people…..maybe call it a “Mentayogager”. One would think $7 per hour per specialty, or $21 per hour should get you a halfway decent one. And yes, at the risk of sounding sexist, a woman would need to be hired, as I would not think any player would want a guy groping them for their message session…….but then again we are talking about the cubbies here, so maybe a male could be considered.

No Les “Sugar” Cain? Teammate, “Sweet” Lou Whitaker, certainly makes a valid claim towards enshrinement. As does Simba, Garvey, Mattingly, Munson, Murphy…….heck, enshrine them all! Except MM…….and I’m not talking about KC’s new skipper.

The Cards only lead the league in fielding…..and nearly were shut out in the winners department. Go figure. The number of finalists means next to nothing, as nobody remembers them anyway. If this 2019 Cardinal squad were playing in LA, NY or Chicago, we’d be heralding two or three GG victors right now. Play ball!

Way way too many strike outs….. it’s that simple, but not easy to rectify.

    – Let Marcell walk. Extend him the qualifying offer for the draft selection, but let the man go. He is not the future.

JMart – If you can get something for him, take it and run.

DeJong – His power and defensive prowess makes him a keeper. But certainly something can be done to cut down on the whiffs a bit…..can’t it?

Bader – Keep trotting him out there one more year. He’s going to be a blue chipper yet.

Goldy – GG defense or not, if his 2020 offensive campaign resembles his 2019, we’re in trouble.

Carp – He’s no longer starter material. We are stuck.

In summation, thank God for our young starting pitching and the emergence of Tommy Edman!

Give me 8 Tommy Edmans and I’ll show you a WS winner. Give me 8 Paul DeJongs and I’ll show you a .500 ball club at best. And I love Paulie.

I bet Mattingly couldn’t touch your curve with a 10 foot pole, Rat. I think MM will do well in KC. And I’m sure he’s going to pull out all of the stops for his yearly 6 games vs our Birds. MM will of course be the second skipper in baseball history to manage both the Cardinals and the Royals. Based on previous records ( Whitey winning 100+ games in a season for both teams and MM accomplishing the feat in his 7 year stint in St. Louis ) , I think the odds are pretty fair that MM will log at least one 100+ victory campaign for KC. I would love to get another crack at KC in thd world series again before I register my final post one day. But then you run the risk of the Royals punking us again……and that alone might bury me.

Cleveland wins it all in 2020. I’ll tell you one team I wouldn’t take at 50-1, let alone 8-1. And that’s our present world champions. No way they repeat.

Pack has won a lot of close games. Very encouraging that they know how to win the close ones. But, almost every Super Bowl champion also had a few blowouts on their regular season resume. Hopefully the Pack will accumulate at least a couple of them. If you end up coming to Wisconsin, please let me know, Euro.

I don’t believe I cannot think of his name, Euro. Real nice guy from Pennsylvania who posted a fair amount when Matt was originally with the team. We would drop me a PM a couple times a week when we had that fearure. I’ll eventually think of it. When I can’t think of a name, I close my eyes and think real hard and slowly go through the alphabet. And that works about 95% of the time.

Indeed….another jubilant “Adams” or “Addams” tonight, Euro Dandy. His uncle, who used to post here when Matt was a Redbird, is surely extra proud on this fine Wednesday evening.

If the cubbies were smart, they’d trade Bryant for some pitching and go out and ink Rendon.

Turner needs to turn on one here….but he settles for the free pass to load the bases to their full capacity here in the 9th and that will inspire the Houston skipper to reach into his bullpen one last time to restore order. Have to stick with Corbin to close this baby out….don’t you?

Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, Bob Moose and Bruce Kison have to be rolling over in their graves at what has happened to this once proud franchise. The good fans in The Steel City deserve more.

Houston really had themselves a nice little season. Unfortunately for them, they ran into a runaway freight train named the Washington Nationals. Maybe next year for the Stros?????

I have to agree with GameCard here.
Referring Tommy Edman to anything with the word “sub” in it is downright offensive. “Mega-sub”, “super-sub”, “dyno-sub”…….all naughthy words in my book.

That guy must have really needed the coin to just take the 11K profit. You can’t even buy a nice tv these days for 11K. Obviously, he did not see the movie “Field of Dreams” where they said “Go the distance”.
