Love our boys and their glistening spirit, but for tonight’s game we have literally no chance of attaining victory. Hopefully we can make the game somewhat contentious……..but I wouldn’t count on it. Even with this evenings loss, the Cards have still owned these Dodgers in 2026. The future of this team that we so love is a hundred times brighter than any of us imagined in our wildest dreams coming into this season. We all should feel blessed for the fun and excitement that awaits we fans for the foreseeable future.

Ohtani strikes out for the fourth time on this lovely Wednesday evening and he’s mired in a dandy of a slump.
Tommy Boy grounds out to Saggese at SS and we’ll gladly trade an out for a run in this situation……8-6 Good Guys.
Betts lines out to Church in center and it’s a wrap……8-6 Cardinals your final and that’s 4 consecutive series that we’ve defeated these guys.
The Ferminator is stationed at 2nd to begin this 10th inning……Stewart on for LA……and Church lines a base hit, but that puppy was hit with so much authority that The Ferminator will have to slap on the brakes at 3rd.
Saggese with an infield hit to 2nd base and the Birds seize a 6-5 advantage.
Baez drills a double down the 3rd base line and that’ll wipe the bases clean……8-5 and we own these guys. Two at bats for Baez tonight and two ringing doubles to left…..the guy can stroke it.
Herrera grounds out to 2nd with Baez advancing to 3rd.
Burly pops out to SS…….a sac fly would have been oh so sweet to tack on another tally.
Walker strikes out to retire the side…..it’s O’Brien time.

On 3-2 Freddie Freeman walks on one just a titch inside…..almost anyone else not named Freddie Freeman may have succumbed to that Gassy offering.
Freeland bounces into a neat sweet 4-6-3 twin killing and Gassy does his job yet once again…..God love Gassy.
Oh my…..it’s Gassy again……I fear he may not be his normal unhittable self tonight…..fingers crossed.
I so wish Gassy had not pitched last night……we so needed him right here and right now in a situation such as this.

As the Cardinals bat here in the 8th, this is the scenario that you prayed for coming into this game vs the likes of a Yamamoto……down only a run and Yamamoto sitting on the pines. Scott on for LA……
Stanek absolutely owns Ohtani! I never thought I’d see Ohtani look so lost at the dish……but that’s where he’s presently at…..lost in space. But watch out when he finally breaks out of it.
Leonardo burns Yamamoto with a towering 2 run tater to right……only down 1 measly run now here in the 7th……5-4.
I think TD is on to something. I was thinking Leonardo may have been suffering the effects of jet lag with his quick flight out west and needed a one game rest from the rigors of catching. And what’s with Saggese? He whacks 2 round trippers and is rewarded by being dropped to the very bottom depths of the batting order the very next game. Bernal hasn’t paid his dues yet…..he and Saggese should have been flip-flopped.

It was literally like taking candy from a sleeping baby, Jnevel. Everything about last night’s game screamed “OVER”……..those 8.5 total runs was a gift from heaven. My handicapping had it at 11 total runs and of course it even far exceeded that total.
Extremely long odds on us winning either tonight or tomorrow night with two of the game’s finest hurlers dealing to our boys. But……..these young bucks of our’s do not seem to be overly intimidated by elite pitchers not named “Mizorowski”. It’s not like our batters feast off excellent pitching, but they do enough to get the job done and our pitchers seem rise to the occasion in these games. If we can just hang around and get Yamamoto and Skubal out of the game asap, then we have a legitimate opportunity to steal one of these next two games and win this series.
And what’s for din-din one may ask? It’ll be a trip on over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse for a medium rare bone-in ribeye, asparagus spears, buttered mushrooms and then back at the ranch I have a homemade chocolate pecan pie awaiting my return, to which I’ll slap gobs of extra creamy cool whip on top.
Since this one is safely in the win column, I think it might be time to go count some floating sheep. Good night Jnevel……..looks like you’re the last man standing here.
Bruihl plunks Otani just above the right elbow to lead off the Dodger 7th and it inspires a chorus of boos from the Dodger faithful……..one has to be one of two things to boo in a situation such as this…..either very ignorant in life or very ignorant of the game of baseball……or I guess we could legitimately add a third……very intoxicated which probably comprises about 90% of these offenders here in attendance this evening.
