Memphis is using Westerholt at leadoff. Is that manager Ben Johnsons decision or do any of you who would know think that’s by suggestion of the front office? IF we had some better mobs do you think leadoff is a good spot for him?

I don’t know Mo- But if Bill wasn’t going to fire him, at the very least he should have been removed as the “face” of the franchise. It was a face no one wanted to see or hear anymore. He just seemed to get more and more unlikeable as he tried harder and harder to defend his failures. And I hate to be picky, but his style of dress was one i think very few fans could relate to. How many of you wear pink shirts, scarfs, or bowties?

Quinn Matthews, Liam Doyle, Tekoah Roby,Tink Hence, Ixan Henderson, Cooper Hjerpe, Shen Wei Lin, Bryson Mautz and Sem Robberse are the guys that might be ready as early as 2026. Doyle and Matthews look to have a shot at decent careers. We are certainly going to need more than that.

Amen Z. Problem with the Cardinals is it hasn’t just been here and there. We are always hanging on to a bad contract. Bill’s biggest mistake was hanging on to Mo.

I used to take a week and migrate down to StPete Beach for spring training. Al Lang field was a wonderful place to watch a ballgame. That got ruined though like a lot of things. Never been to Jupiter.

Actually I married her Pugs. It was wonderful long enough to have three little KCB’S. Than it wasn’t. The old Mrs KCB flew the coop and headed to the Sunshine state. The little KCB’S are still here and we are all Cardinal fans. So there’s a happy ending.

It brings back fond memories of watching the Royals play the Yankees in the ALCS and then a WS conisting of the Yankees/Dodgers during the 70’s. I had a lot of fun watching post-season baseball back then, so maybe all is not lost.

I grew up in Independence Mo., home of Harry S and Bess Truman. I watched plenty of Royals baseball, but I was already a Cardinals fan. I migrated East to Columbia. After graduation highschool 1975. After my undergraduate studies I went to a party in StLouis with friends that lived here. We stopped at White Castle on the way back to one of the guys parents house. The next day we caught the matinee at Busch stadium. I had a girlfriend here and I contacted her and went and stayed at her parents house and hung out. I never did make it back home. Still here after 45 years.

I am frying half dozen strips of extra thick hicnkory bacon. Break it in pieces and mix it into some Bob Evans macoroni and cheese. Washed down with Arnie Palmer half and half lemonade and iced tea. Than I have some Tates cc cookies I bought at Costco today. Theyre the real thin crunchy kind. Howeever many I can fit between my thumb and middle finger will accompany me to the easy chair for viewing the rest of the Cardinals game. Of course more iced tea to wash them down.

Thanks for asking the question Mud and bringing him to our attention. And this forum is lucky to have guys like Brian and Bob who can give us the breakdown on these young players.

I think somebody pays about half Arenados salary. We pay the other half with some token throw in prospect by the other team. JMO. If he doesn’t come back this year, i think the odds are even higher he’s gone.

There’s so much $ involved, I think they’re all giving a lot of effort. But it still isn’t playing in high pressure situations. Some excel some disappear.

Yep forscha31. Scott is an elite defensive talent in cf. But we are offensively challenged. If Church can hit anything like he did in AAA, we have to give it a long look.

There’s a bunch of good players at Springfield. I haven’t been down there since Walker, Winn, Gomez, McGreevy, and Graceffo were all there at the same time. I’m heading down there for a weekend before AAA season ends. Last weekend in August and Sept 12-14 are the weekend series left.

I think JJ plays second no matter what. Still have another month for Gorman to shake off the rust or not. Either way looks like he’s getting the chance.

Something tells me it’s in our best interst as fans to spruce up on these guys on Brian and Kyles list. We are going to be seeing them a lot in the future.

ing personal insults for absolutely zero reason.

Read the rules of the board.

Quite frankly, Brian should put you on time out.

I find Bling knowledgeable and entertaining. He riles me up sometimes. I get over it. I did not insult him. That your interpretation.

Just found time to listen to the podcast. Thanks as always. I was anxious to see Wetherholt in September but after watching I think we need to leave him in Memphis until st. Nothing really to be gained for him and we need to continue getting as many at bats as possible for Gorman and Saggese. Those are the guys along with Burleson Noot and Walker that we have to make decisions on this winter.
