The JJ extension discussion reminded me of the TBR shelving Longoria in the minors until he would sign a club friendly deal.
The risk side of a possible JJ deal reminds me of DeJong, and that signing was after using a year of control.
Certainty? In baseball? I don’t buy the cost certainty approach, it’s based off arb pay early on in the contract anyway. Yes, there would be savings if he becomes elite. Does he get a NTC too? 😜
If he doesn’t sign, I hope he isn’t called up until the end of April or May. He only spent 2 months in Memphis so it’s an easy sell.

From what I saw of Siani, I think he is the best defensive centerfielder in the entire organization. His hitting isn’t great, but it’s not bad enough to not protect him. He made some true highlight reel plays when he was up.
It’s going to interesting to compare Brian and Blake’s assessment of players in the TCN 2025 Prospect Guide to Brian and Kyle’s assessments of the same players in the TCN 2026 Prospect Guide.
