7:15 p.m.
RHP Sonny Gray (13-8, 4.45) vs. RHP Brandon Woodruff (6-2, 3.32)
FOX // KMOXSeptember 13, 2025 at 8:23 am #292346Oh good; we have our ‘ace’ going tonight. I’m really happy that football season is now in full swing.
September 13, 2025 at 10:12 am #292348I hear you, ZTR. We haven’t had a true Ace since Waino was on top of his game and then before Waino…..Carpenter…..then who?…..Matt Morris maybe. Having gone last night, I wasn’t going to go tonight since I’ll be at a wedding all day. But now I’m thinking that if I don’t indulge too much in the ol’ Wild Turkey at the wedding, I just may drift on over to the Cards games, as I won’t be able to see our Birds for awhile with the howling winter winds not far off. The cubbies will be rooting like heck for us to win this game, so that makes it somewhat tough to get overly jubilant in victory. Maybe if I go I’ll just stay completely mute for the entire game…….other than speaking to the beer vendors of course.
September 13, 2025 at 10:58 am #292350Melatonin is a natural over the counter sleep aid. I don’t need it much these days. This team does the job quite well.
September 13, 2025 at 11:42 am #292351Oh Pugs, get to the game if you can! You’re lucky to be close enough. Even if they’re having a crappy season, enjoy while you can. I haven’t been to a Cards game in five years when I visited my daughter in Washington and took in a couple of Cards-Nationals games with an old army buddy. MLB-TV is a reasonable substitute but being able to see the whole park all the time and not depend on some producer to decide what I see, the sounds, the smells, great.
Rah Cardinals!September 13, 2025 at 1:50 pm #292360The Cardinals have a record of 20-9 in games started by Gray this year. He is the closest thing to an ace we have.
September 13, 2025 at 4:46 pm #292365The Cubs take it on the chin today at Wrigley. They lose to Tampa Bay 5-4. Caminero a dong in the 8th to tie the game 4-4 and Cortes and homer in the 9th to win it for the Rays.
More incentive for the Brewers tonight. They can go back up 6 1/2 games with a win tonight. But the Cubs still hold a four game lead over San Diego for the top wild card spot.
September 13, 2025 at 5:29 pm #292366I originally saw that the Wyoming-Utah game was on CBS, so I was going to watch that. But it is not listed on our local CBS channel, so I will have to see if I can get a streaming channel that has it. I don’t have any premium services like Fubo or Sling, only MLB.tv so most likely no go on football and I will be checking out our game.
September 13, 2025 at 5:41 pm #292368Just arrived home from the wedding and have decided to pass on going to the game, Cardinal in France. Hard to believe after tonight we only have 2 more Saturday games to go. Where did this season go?
September 13, 2025 at 5:49 pm #292370It’s hard to have much interest when the organization doesn’t seem to care ….hard to believe this team is 4 back in the wildcard and you just feel they have no chance at all
September 13, 2025 at 7:05 pm #292378Anyone have opinions ont eh Cardinals’ TV broadcast crew? I bring it up because I watched one of the Mariners games where Mark Sweeney was the color guy. I really like him – he brings a real insightful analysis. And I thought him and Caray worked really well together. They have they “chemistry” you want to see in a crew.
Brad Thompson is okay, but I thought Sweeney was much better. Chip is really good as well. I remember him starting out back in the old cable days with the Cubs, and he was kind of rough. But after all these years he has become an excellent play-by-play guy.
September 13, 2025 at 8:35 pm #292382I rarely have the volume on so I haven’t heard enough of Sweeney to form any sort of judgement. I’ve been exposed to enough of Chip Caray in the past to judge him to be first rate. Anyone even slightly related to Harry has an unfair bloodline advantage over any other baseball announcer. Harry Caray will always be far and away my all time favorite baseball announcer simply on the merit of nostalgic memories from my long ago youth. And besides, anyone who is placed into a hospital bed for near death injuries received while jay walking and then recieves a violation citation for doing so is top-notch in my book…Haha! Harry was the King of the baseball broadcast booth!
September 13, 2025 at 8:44 pm #292383The Mets have now lost 8 in row and are attempting to take on a persona similar to the ’64 Phillies…Good!
September 13, 2025 at 10:07 pm #292389Ivan Herrera with another three hit night tonight and has his OPS up to .840. He is by far our best hitter. We may trade several players this winter but this guy had better not be on the list. He is a keeper.
September 13, 2025 at 10:27 pm #292392The Brewers are doing what good teams do in this home half of the 9th inning. They don’t pack it in and quit.
September 13, 2025 at 10:33 pm #292393Yelich looks at it go by and K’s with the winning RISP. We should sign him up…
September 13, 2025 at 11:03 pm #292395Somehow you knew that the Cardinals weren’t going to be able to protect a 5 run lead and make it hold up for a W. they’ve been relegatd to that sort of a team.
September 13, 2025 at 11:10 pm #292396Bullpen blew this game. The Brewers do what they do which is find a way to win.
I am curious if the Brewers can have this kind of magic in the postseason. They are notorious regular season heroes but playoff chokers.
September 13, 2025 at 11:13 pm #292397Leahy, off with his head.

ParticipantBrewers had a stretch around a month ago where they one a number of home games coming from behind. Shows me we still don’t have a reliable set up man or closer,Not going to win titles without those 2 pieces,

You must have slept through the trade deadline.

O-4 BB 3K
Time is coming to an end here. Trade him to the Rockies or Arizona for whatever you can get. Used puck bag idgaf.
September 14, 2025 at 2:42 am #292403Bikemike-announcers: I like Caray fine, despite his rather irritating laugh (uk.uk,uk). I could do without Brad Thompson whose sole contribution appears to be trying to guess what the next pitch is going to be. I like Sweeney fine and would like to see him promoted to the A-Team.
September 14, 2025 at 8:35 am #2924105 games under and sinking fast. At 7-4 I flipped over to watch a football game assuming a Cardinal victory but I see they grasped defeat from the jaws of victory.
I’m ready for 2027 (yes I wish we could just fast forward through the 2026 season because we pretty much know it’s going to be another ‘transition’ year.
September 14, 2025 at 8:38 am #292411The Cardinals are having exactly the kind of season we thought they would when the front office accomplished exactly zero of their offseason goals.
