JMart is now -0.1 rWAR and 0.6 fWAR. It’s June 7. Time to trade him or use him off the bench. Has anyone else abandoned JMart is our 1B ship?
He has shown he can hit at the major league level. Hopefully the front office is at least talking to a American League team about a trade. Problem is, as mentioned above, he is one of the few guys hitting day in and day out. Take him out of the lineup and wow.
Guilmet picks up right where he left off last night. And then drops an F bomb as he leaves the field loud enough for it to be picked up on air.
Another gem of a signing by the front office.
Cecil and Holland are what the Cardinal front office views as big time signing. Why is anyone surprised. Start the shake up with a hitting coach, and a new front office.
This team has been shut down for 6 innings by a bullpen that has an ERA of over 6. Their starter had an ERA over 6, the starter last night had not won again this year. Their offense up until the last two nights made ours look like murders row.
We have a 3B, he is playing 2B to accommodate our 1B, who is playing 3B, to make room for our DH, because nobody else on the team is hitting
Hard to argue this.
And like last night, we climb back in it and then give up runs right away. Just a god awful play by Munoz.
Not sure anyone threw him under the bus Jager, just seems to be that guy that can’t escape the injury bug. I hope that is not the case.
Now you have to start wondering if Reyes will every have a full season for the Cardinals, or is he going to wash out due to injuries
What I am thinking
Two big differences tonight were
1. To many little league plays by the team in red
2. Marlin’s bullpen pitched well our Cards was a dumpster fire again tonight. Front office just doesn’t get it when it comes to the pen.Not one but two 7 pitch innings for their pen. I know the game has changed but god I hate the free swing new bat angle game at this point in a game.
colhusker, ref your question: Carp didn’t get picked off. He strayed too far off 1B on a fly out and got doubled off. The catch looked iffy until it was made, but no excuse for Carp being caught like he was — little league-ish.
Thanks been at least 3 little league type plays tonight then. As I said, was walking the dog at that point.
