It seems like the only way betting can influence a game is if a manager is trying to lose. I just don’t have it in me to believe that Rose deliberately tried to lose a game. As far as players are concerned, it would take at least half of the team conspiring to lose a game because of a bet. That might have happened before the 1919 World Series scandal, but not since.

I dont have a problem with rose, jackson being unbanned. Once upon a time i did, but seeing how baseball has just fell in love with gambling and the dollars attached, its fine. Same way i feel about the cheaters. Rose played the game the way its supposed to be played. He may otherwise be a crappy person but i dont care about that.
