One of my sons is making up his annual batch of homemade kraut for the home opener foot long wieners. Cold frosty Bud on the menu as well.
I don’t know GameCard and I do not pay much attention to any of that. But I am 100% sure baseball owners and execs to not much care if the Georgia legislature wants to require identification to obtain a mail in ballot.
I have long since stopped contributing financially to MLB just because it has turned into a crappy product not worth the money it takes to go in person or the time and aggravation it takes to watch on tv. I like to follow the story line via box scores and here at TCN. I think this latest is just because, like other corporate entities, they want to position their brand on what they think is the right bandwagon.
The issue isn’t about whether there were fraudulent votes or whether there is or is not any proof of it. The issue is that there has to be confidence that the result of an election is legitimate. You cannot have that confidence if it is not possible to know if votes cast are legally cast or not. That is what the Georgia voting law is trying to address. I have no opinion if it is a good way to do it.
We will have to keep an eye on outfield defense while Bader is out. He is an elite defender, but if the three that are out there everyday prove adequate, then it comes down to whether Bader is one of the top three bats among the group. Not meaning to kick a guy who is down, but I hope that is not the case.
It is about being on the right bandwagon. I am sure if you asked the baseball execs which provisions in the new Georgia voting law they object to you would get a blank stare.

I predict Waino will have more Cy Young votes than Flaherty this year.
More wins and quality starts as well.
Just got home and perused the box score. Wasn’t it me that’s been saying our outfield will be hitting taters left and right. It does look like Flaherty had a rough outing but pen was good. Just from box score. I’ll read up chat after din din.
I’ll have to try a Sunkist Orange. The only soda pop I ever drink is Grape Nehi now and then because we always have it around to make homemade pop-sickles for the grandkids.
It will be over when I get home but I’ve got Ball Park Franks and Budweiser.
Much faster page loading this morning.
Team was 29th out of 30 in OPS this ST. Can they flip a switch and turn it on?
We were 26h in 2020, 21st in 2019, so will probably be down in lower half somewhere.
The last time he pitched 100 innings was 2015.
Since I got my second dose I am tired of hearing about covid too.
Sosa’s K rate in AAA has been about 20%, so that’s the floor on what we can expect in MLB. Rondon’s closer to 25%. Scanning their BBRef pages side by side, it looks like Sosa is the better hitter.
Mo Monday remark concerning Carpenter, per BW:
Hit ball hard, but hit where they (the defense) are.
I got a chuckle out of this, Mo doing a great Mr. Obvious impersonation. Its called hitting into the shift relentlessly. Even with somewhat diminished bat speed he still does it. It is pretty clear there is nothing he can do about it. Matt Adams was the same way.
Waino had to get bailed out of a first inning jam. Wow. And yikes.
It will be interesting to see how long the organization’s bromance with Carlson lasts.
I also wonder how long DeJong will be the everyday ss. My opinion his numbers will continue to head south as they have since the high point in 2017. OPS+ more than a couple points below 100 this season. First thing to happen will be to find another option for protecting NA. Drop PDJ down in the order where he will join the outfielder pile that will form at the bottom of the order as guys gravitate toward doing what they have previously done offensively. Nogowski has been a productive .300 hitter so I think he will be a producer and end up in there every day. They could hit him 4th without worrying he will think he needs to be Babe Ruth and hit .230 with a homer a week.
Its not like we have Babe Ruth waiting for a roster slot. We can survive without a potential ML average or 4A guy for a while until they ease Carp out.
I think they want Thomas to play every day in Memphis. It won’t do Dean any harm to be a 4th outfielder.

About this time each year I start dreading that we will get off to a bad start. It means we will be listening to the marathon not sprint crowd until after the AS break. In baseball there never was a pig folks won’t try to put lipstick on. It has been that way for 50 years to my certain knowledge. Good luck to those heading north.
Rondon……304/.393/.609/1.002
Sosa……..130/.250/.174/.424
Carpenter…028/.205/.056/.260I am not a Rondon fan at all but, man, he has to feel like road kill. His line is better than the two guys who made it combined.
I noticed that after Carpenter’s last PA today his BA only dropped by a point. That’s an improvement. Schildt will probably mention it post game as something to build on.
