Brian, Just curious why Prieto would need to be protected from the Rule 5 draft. He didn’t sign with Baltimore until January 2022 and would only have 2 years of Minor league experience by November 2023.Does his time playing for Cuba count against him?
Bccran – I agree that Antico will move up to Memphis about early to mid season. This is my guess of where players will start the season. I didn’t list Luis Pino for Palm Beach but he should move up by mid season and Fletcher will probably be shown the door. Pinder and Hurst are bench riders and Antico probably wouldn’t start at Memphis now that Mercado is there. He can play everyday at Springfield tell its time to move him up.

Fletcher ???Brian, In your article I see you mention Jake Burns as an invitee to the Cardinals spring training camp. Is he a recent addition to the invitee list? I don’t remember him being on the list before.
He was a radio operator with the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam war and actually went out on jungle patrols. I remember Jack Buck interviewing him when he came to the Cardinals and Campbell wouldn’t talk about his war experiences. He had a lot of bad memories of the place.
