When I look at the list, I’ve felt like these first 9 (also my first 9 just in a little different order) were clearly the cream of the crop and there was a gap between them and the next group of 7 guys. The first 9 are solid bets to play in St Louis as regulars and all have at least some chance of one day being a future all star. The next 7 to me are guys who look like solid bets to be destined for St Louis, but may or may not be every day contributors. In no particular order, that’s Graceffo, Roby, Lin, Bedell, Showalter, Rajcic, and Robberse. All pitchers. Sorry Cranny – I can’t rank Petrutz this high yet so it’ll be a minute for me to call his name.
I’m going to go with Roby for my #10. I don’t feel strongly about the order of the 7 – only that they are all the next tier. Roby has the best “stuff” of any pitcher we have (or is at least equal to Hence). He also hurt his shoulder and then missed more time last season. That makes me very wary of him. However, after watching him pitch a couple times last season, I was enthralled with his arsenal. So I’m putting him here at 10.
10. Roby
#10 – Lin (Roby is still a good prospect also) I don’t see a drop off since I have Lin above Bernal and Davis.

9. Leonardo Bernal, CI also have that group of pitchers now, all more or less equivalent.
As I said I do not consider Lin because I believe that his performances are due to the fact that he played at a much lower level than the others.I stay with Robberse as my #10 (I have Roby right behind)

Goodness gracious, more mistakes in a few rounds of voting this year than in my entire time doing this before. Sorry to have to knock all the rust off in real time. It will be Tuesday the 19th. Voting rounds always end on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday if there’s ever any doubt.
This is where I’ll jump on board the Lin hype train. Lin #10.
I thought the first tier of players ended at #6. We are now in the second tier where we are betting on “hope.”
There’s potential for Graceffo to contribute at the major league level in 2025 especially if he puts in the work during this offseason.
#10. Graceffo
There sure aren’t any players that jump out at you in the next group from #11 to #20, although there’s growing hope for Lin. I could see him ranked at #10. The Cardinals probably kept him at Palm Beach all season because they want to give him time to fill out a bit. He probably looks awful skinny at 6’7 and 188 lbs.
Lin has crazy amount of projection. He has a very big frame at 6’7″ and has plenty of room to put on even more weight. He already has a great fastball that sits upper 90s and he still seems raw to me. But given some development, I can see him turning into a very valuable pitcher and I look forward to seeing what he can do next year. I would like to see them be aggressive and move him to AA quickly if he has success in A+.

Excellent season overall, but it’s the unusually strong finish that persuades me.
Over his last 8 starts: 45.1 IP, just 29 hits, and a sterling 57-to-9 strikeout-to-walk tally. One homer, an ERA of 1.19, and an opponents’ OPS under .500.Yeah he’s kinda old, and it’s a pitcher’s park in a pitcher’s league, but that’s a lot to like — not to mention he could actually lose significant velocity and still have the minimum daily required fastball for a mid-rotation MLB starter. I look forward to watching him in Peoria next year.
Nice summary on Lin, Bob. Its really, really, unusual for me to get lathered up over a low A guy. I’m not even on the Wetherholt bandwagon yet, but Lin is very compelling.

HR Rate 2ndHe kept the ball on the ground, limited hard contact and has the size to maintain his velocity long term. The Cards were moving him slowly, but I suspect that may change this year. I like his upside more than quite a few in front of him, but he’s a bit further out. Still, “Wei-No” is my pick for #10.
That makes it 5 for Graceffo, 5 for Lin, and 1 each for Roby, Robberse, and Petrutz. 5 1/2 hours before the polls close and we begin voting for 2 at a time.
Yes, it’s a tight contest. I know we have at least one person who voted for Lin last round whose #10 vote is outstanding. Not sure if there are any precincts yet to report for Graceffo.
