For 2026, I see the emergence of Alec Willis! Not because of his stats, or anything besides my desire for him to do well! Ok, it is wishful thinking but his injuries have to give him a break sooner or later, don’t they? He is still young since he was drafted out of High School, so maybe this will be the year we see something special from him… or see anything from him!
Twitter (X) has a report from @RedbirdFarmhand that the Cards are signing a NDFA.
Cardinals are set to sign RHP Robbie Knowles (25) to a minor league contract
He recently pitched at @TreadHQ Pro day with some impressive numbers.
Brain, I’m not sure what you have found out, but I did some digging and noticed this in the MiLB transaction pages:
10/20/25 – St. Louis Cardinals signed free agent LHP Juan Santillan to a minor league contract.
I guess he was added last fall during the 2025 signing period. No dollar figure was mentioned.
Brian, quick question. We have seen several names posted that were going to sign with the Cards that don’t appear on this list. Will they be signed in the days to come, or maybe those pictures and names fell through? (ie. Juan Santillin, Diego Concepcion, and Carlos Antonio.)
By the way, I think you put the signing bonus for Rafeli Moronta on Javier Martinez in error.
This transaction snuck in and I haven’t seen anything else on it. More Left handed depth at Memphis:
01/05/26 – St. Louis Cardinals signed free agent LHP Bruce Zimmermann to a minor league contract.

The #STLCards have reached salary settlements with all seven of their arbitration-eligible players, per a cource. There will be no need for arbitration trials like in 2025, when the club and three players (Brendan Donovan, Lars Nootbaar and Andre Pallante) had salary disputes.

JoJo Romero and #stlcards reach agreement for $4.26 million on a one-year deal for 2026, per source.
This is the lefty reliever's final year of arb eligibility before he can become a free agent next offseason.

Matthew Liberatore and the #stlcards reach agreement at $2.26 million for 2026, per source.
This was the lefty's first chance at arbitration, and he reached it as a Super-2 and as a starter due to the #Cardinals putting him in the rotation this past spring.

I can’t say I remember this player, but maybe some on this site do. RIP, George.
Honoring George Altman, who recently died in O'Fallon MO and played for the Cardinals, Mets & Cubs. He played in Negro Leagues, MLB & Japan. He was an MLB All-Star. And he was the only left-handed batter to ever hit 2 HRs off Sandy Koufax in same game. https://t.co/6eAE4UVbQp

I am assuming Santillan falls into the same category as Concepcion, where it was reported that he signed but the Cardinals have not announced the move.
By the way, any chance Concepcion has any famous relatives? Thanks for the clarification, Brian. I do have a question about your article tho. I show Oliver Gonzalez being from the 2024 class, and was traded with Tommy Edman in 2024. Also, was Lucas Takahashi not considered a IFA for 2025?
Not signed yet, but reported to be one of the IFA signings on Jan. 15.
