Twitter (X) has a report from @RedbirdFarmhand that the Cards are signing a NDFA.

Cardinals are set to sign RHP Robbie Knowles (25) to a minor league contract

He recently pitched at @TreadHQ Pro day with some impressive numbers.

Found a Youtube video on Knowles: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOMbvUE-6vo

His stats are eye popping and not in a good way…

This is a shocker to me! From transaction page:

    01/23/26 – 3B Jacob Buchberger retired.

Not too many surprises among the non-roster invites. Bedell maybe – as called out on WwW&R broadcast. Maybe could have seen Levenson and/or Medlinger for cameo appearances and early cuts. It’s a good list though. These are truly all the players with any chance to contribute at the major league level in the first half of 2026. Well, all the players plus Grayson Tarlow, Carlos Linarez, and Brody Moore. Those 3 have no chance.

I like the roster cleanup. We shed a lot of deadwood. One thing for sure, either Gorman or Walker have to show improvement. If they don’t, and Baez his hitting well he swap places with Walker. Maybe give Saggese a chance at third. It’s a make or break year for NG and JW.

It doesn’t matter what Brian thinks, it only matters Bloom thinks.

Cards are trading for Nationals Geirge Soriano. The Cards are trading away Granillo. Soriano has good minor league numbers, but with not much MLb success yet.

I wonder when the Cards will move Roby and whoever else to the 60 day DL? I thought Hjerpe will be ready for ST.

This is the first trade that I don’t understand what the Cardinals are doing.

I don’t get that trade either. You trade Granillio for a below-average reliever who is out of options? Huh? They must have been really down on Granillo.

I’m going to trust Bloom on these transactions. Maybe Granillo was AAAA? I liked Granillo, but Love and Gastelumdo well at Memphis and they can replace him. Possibly Soriano can be coached up? I like Ramos and Velasquez additions as well. At worst Velasquez is minor league depth. Ramos, like Pushard has to make the team or they risk losing them. I did read that the Cards might try and sneak Ramos thru waivers later and DFA him.

I hate this trade. As many of you know, I’ve long been a Granillo fan. I just don’t understand why Soriano?

Kyle had Granillo #47. Bloom must too.

I don’t understand the Granillo trade. Granillo has performed better albeit less time, has an extra year of control, and very importantly for a RP has 2 option years left while Soriano has 0. Did Bloom lose a bet on the Superbowl with the Nats new GM and have to do a pony up trade?

Bloom should be concentrating on getting us an outfielder instead of trading away one of our own guys for a another pitcher that will be gone at the end of spring training. What? Is this sticking to the plan? Somebody upstairs isn’t going in the right direction.
