cardsfan64ParticipantTwitter (X) has a report from @RedbirdFarmhand that the Cards are signing a NDFA.
Cardinals are set to sign RHP Robbie Knowles (25) to a minor league contract
He recently pitched at @TreadHQ Pro day with some impressive numbers.
January 20, 2026 at 4:53 pm #299570Found a Youtube video on Knowles: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOMbvUE-6vo
His stats are eye popping and not in a good way…

cardsfan64ParticipantThis is a shocker to me! From transaction page:
01/23/26 – 3B Jacob Buchberger retired.

cardsfan64ParticipantAnother reported signing of a FA pitcher for the minors:
Cardinals pick up their second arm from @TreadHQ Pro Day in RHP Dominic Freeberger (25) who they will sign to a minor league deal.
Freeberger a former two-way player pitched 2024 and 2025 in the Orioles system to a 6.42 ERA in 47.2 innings with 56 strikeouts, but 36 walks https://t.co/zNhRTpie0k

cardsfan64ParticipantWe have signed OF Nelson Velázquez to a minor league contract with a non-roster invite to Major League Spring Training.
The right-handed hitter, 27, appeared in 194 games between the Cubs and Royals from 2022-24 and owns a career .433 SLG with 31 career home runs. pic.twitter.com/I8FpI2DUPl

Among 27 NRIs invited to #STLCards spring camp are 10 members of TCN's 2026 Top 50 Prospect List, including two in the top four – infielder JJ Wetherholt and pitcher Quinn Mathews. The club also signed a veteran RHH outfielder. https://t.co/2oamBk2SBJ pic.twitter.com/qaYOuVke9C

January 28, 2026 at 2:22 pm #299952Not too many surprises among the non-roster invites. Bedell maybe – as called out on WwW&R broadcast. Maybe could have seen Levenson and/or Medlinger for cameo appearances and early cuts. It’s a good list though. These are truly all the players with any chance to contribute at the major league level in the first half of 2026. Well, all the players plus Grayson Tarlow, Carlos Linarez, and Brody Moore. Those 3 have no chance.

cardsfan64ParticipantThe Cardinals are signing 1B/OF Bligh Madris (29) to a minor league contract per @_chaseford
Madris hit .320/.414/.520 in the Mexican Winter League across 62 games with 8 homers.
At AAA Toledo in 2025 he slashed .232/.320/.384 with 5 homers in 50 games. pic.twitter.com/qKbOf20WJ9

cardsfan64ParticipantBryan Ramos was claimed off waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals, per sources.
Cuban infielder was designated for assignment by the Orioles two days ago.

February 6, 2026 at 2:27 pm #300412The #stlcards made a waiver claim of 3B Bryan Ramos today. In a free article at The Cardinal Nation, I explain why I don't see a good fit. https://t.co/RsHMoK0F9k pic.twitter.com/cIvsQSD3A2

February 7, 2026 at 11:36 am #300447I like the roster cleanup. We shed a lot of deadwood. One thing for sure, either Gorman or Walker have to show improvement. If they don’t, and Baez his hitting well he swap places with Walker. Maybe give Saggese a chance at third. It’s a make or break year for NG and JW.
February 7, 2026 at 12:15 pm #300449It doesn’t matter what Brian thinks, it only matters Bloom thinks.

cardsfan64ParticipantThe Cardinals have signed @justinmili16 to a minor league contract after a super impressive pro day at @CoachKsAcademy
Militello (22) was a UDFA for the Braves last season posting a 5.86 ERA in 43 innings with 44 strikeouts, but 28 walks. https://t.co/vS9NS4OgRU

cardsfan64ParticipantConfirmed on the transaction page:
02/06/26 – St. Louis Cardinals signed free agent RHP Justin Militello to a minor league contract.
02/06/26 – RHP Justin Militello assigned to Peoria Chiefs.February 10, 2026 at 2:03 pm #300557Cards are trading for Nationals Geirge Soriano. The Cards are trading away Granillo. Soriano has good minor league numbers, but with not much MLb success yet.
February 10, 2026 at 2:05 pm #300558I wonder when the Cards will move Roby and whoever else to the 60 day DL? I thought Hjerpe will be ready for ST.
February 10, 2026 at 2:20 pm #300561Cards are trading for Nationals Geirge Soriano. The Cards are trading away Granillo. Soriano has good minor league numbers, but with not much MLb success yet.
This is the first trade that I don’t understand what the Cardinals are doing.
February 10, 2026 at 2:55 pm #300563I don’t get that trade either. You trade Granillio for a below-average reliever who is out of options? Huh? They must have been really down on Granillo.
February 10, 2026 at 3:09 pm #300567I’m going to trust Bloom on these transactions. Maybe Granillo was AAAA? I liked Granillo, but Love and Gastelumdo well at Memphis and they can replace him. Possibly Soriano can be coached up? I like Ramos and Velasquez additions as well. At worst Velasquez is minor league depth. Ramos, like Pushard has to make the team or they risk losing them. I did read that the Cards might try and sneak Ramos thru waivers later and DFA him.
February 10, 2026 at 3:10 pm #300568I hate this trade. As many of you know, I’ve long been a Granillo fan. I just don’t understand why Soriano?
February 10, 2026 at 8:04 pm #300588
jj-cf-stlParticipantKyle had Granillo #47. Bloom must too.
February 10, 2026 at 8:15 pm #300590I don’t understand the Granillo trade. Granillo has performed better albeit less time, has an extra year of control, and very importantly for a RP has 2 option years left while Soriano has 0. Did Bloom lose a bet on the Superbowl with the Nats new GM and have to do a pony up trade?
February 11, 2026 at 10:18 am #30065114NyquisT
ParticipantBloom should be concentrating on getting us an outfielder instead of trading away one of our own guys for a another pitcher that will be gone at the end of spring training. What? Is this sticking to the plan? Somebody upstairs isn’t going in the right direction.
February 11, 2026 at 10:56 am #300654
jj-cf-stlParticipant6 gallons dumped in a 5gal bucket does what?
