If you possibly have a future Upton in your system who doesn’t cost you 20 million dollars a year, you should probably consider that as a businessman. Shouldn’t
    you?

The strong trend in MLB is to develop from within. Cards of course are a part of that. Have been for a long time. The grass is always greener. Why is that? Bignameitis?

Upton is hitting home runs at a 1 per 20 PA rate. DeJong is hitting home runs at a 1 per 14.5 PA rate.
Who’d have ever thunk it. Can it last? No one knows, but he sure looks good right now. Maybe we should think twice about blocking
the Martinez, Pham, Grichuk, Piscotty, O’Neill, Adolis Garcia, Arozarena, Sierra, etc. crowd with an Upton type until we see how our own players develop and perform at the major league level.

Don’t really know yet how significant our prospects are. Soon, though.

I don’t care if a pitch isn’t to your liking, if it’s anywhere close in that situation you can’t leave the bat on your shoulder.

Can anyone explain why Greg Garcia looked at strike 3 with 1 out and the bases loaded in the 8th?

If you mean Cardinals prospects only, than I wholeheartedly agree.

I take a lot of things into consideration. Age for level, stats, scouting reports, etc. Your comment about Adolis was facetious. I’m sorry to have responded to it.

12 home runs and 50 RBI in 408 plate appearances this season?

8 straight games of decent managing?

In December, BA had Sosa as our #8 prospect and Alveraz as our #10 prospect for 2017. So much for “those in the know”.

In their mind, probably no reason to make a move as long as they keep winning. Except perhaps to see if they can pawn off Cecil on somebody.

    I mentioned Wong as set.

Does Diaz have enough consistent power to be a productive major league third baseman? How does he compare to Wisdom?

With Fowler, Grichuk (who they’re still holding out hope for), Piscotty (same as Grichuk), Pham, Martinez, Bader, O’Neill, Adolis Garcia, Sierra, Arozarena, etc. I don’t see them trading for a big bat outfielder. They’ll see which cream rises to the top. Trading some pitching for a proven major league third baseman is another thing. Just MHO.

    Rosenthal
    Oh
    Tuivailala
    Bowman
    Brebbia
    Lyons
    Cecil
    Duke

Take Cecil and Bowman off that list and add Montgomery and you might be set.

Not just talking about TCN. Also talking about MLB, BA, etc.

Seems to me that over the past year or so, Helsley has been pretty underrated. In the off season count down on TCN, where was he ranked? In the latest MLB.com rankings, he’s rated below Reyes,
Flaherty, Hudson, Alcantara, Fernandez, Gallen, Hicks, Gomber, Woodford, Seijas, Jones, and Oviedo. Really? Rated below Jones? Who on the above list has outperformed him in the system statistically? That’s what I call being underrated.

Helsley and Mejia are both underrated.

The pity is that Albies is a slightly built (5′ 9″ 150 lbs)
little 20 year old kid who was just called up from AAA Gwinnett a little over a week ago. Cecil should hang his head in shame.

Perhaps he has a confict with a family function. I’m not going to read too much into things.
I heard from very high up in the organization that they miss both Oquendo and Holliday more than they thought they would. That’s all I know.
