Wow, nootbaar comes back and matches Burly’s RBI total and already has more home runs than him in a single game. You have to love his proficiency. This is exciting!

Jim Edmonds can (and does) talk until he’s blue in the face, but that doesn’t change the fact that Burleson has been a complete failure as a hitter at the MLB level. It’s just a fact. His stat line doesn’t lie or lean into hyperbole. Your stat line is what you are.

The fact is, if you’re going to be on the ML roster, you have to produce. To date, Burleson has produced nothing. Don’t talk about hard hit balls, “bad luck”, or strike out rates. At the ML level, he has in a word – sucked. The other options who are currently on the IL need to hurry up and get healthy.

shady, i am interested in what you see as “very solid season” from burleson both offensively and defensively? what does a “solid” season look like for you? how many ABs? what sort of stat line? how many games played in the OF? is a solid season actually producing or just putting the bat on the ball, even when it just leads to an out? i’m really interested in knowing. you seem to be the expert on him, and i want to learn from the best.

i laugh whenever you “two” have to keep giving the full description of your “friend” as the “red sox scout”. you would think after all the times you “two” have brought “him” up, it would be obvious to whom you’re referring to between “yourselves” without the qualifier. even more laugh inducing is that this “friend” always seem to share both of your opinions on every player you constantly discuss. what does he say specifically? please tell us in the interest of “baseball discussion”.

if only there was a way shady and “wally” could have looked up who was catching whatever game he (because they are the same person) is blabbing on and on about….maybe the red sox scout “friend” can tell them?

Brian, just so you’re aware, Shady has been spamming other Cardinals chats – such as STL Today – for a couple of years. He will often post repeatedly about Burleson and other minor league players once they are on the cusp of potentially making the major league roster. Not only multiple threads, but the same comments over and over. He won’t ever change, and he often creates multiple accounts, such as the Wally Butterworth one, where he will talk to himself. I’ll leave the moderating to you, but just be aware this will be ongoing if you let him remain. He was finally banned from STL Today recently. Good luck!
