Only joshing….10-1 Indians your happy final.
They’ve gone final at Wrigley and those cubbies came up with 11 runs in the 9th to clip Cleveland 11-10…..a Schwarber granny the decisive blow.
So true, stlcard25. But I would like to think that our Cardinals would not allow that to happen…..just like the real good teams wouldn’t. We’ll find out tomorrow afternoon….but this one isn’t in the books yet. Still have one more crack at them
Geesh….Hammel looked like Hamlet tonight in his 7 innings of labor. How many times does our offense let pitchers throw their best game of the year vs them? Too many…..but here we stand with a pretty decent record. It just could be so much better. I’ve always been against mid season player rentals where you mortgage too much of your future. But maybe this year it’s warranted….see Machado. A guy like him could transform our entire lineup into doing good things. Couple that with Reyes and Flaherty very possibly doing grandiose things and we could be looking at a world series.
Just had a terrible thought. What if these slubs took us 2-3 in our yard. I think I’d become a cubbies fan…NOT! Maybe Pittsburgh though.
Like the way you think, Euro! But I’m just not appreciated in the workplace the way I should be. I think the only thing that may be trickling my way is a pink slip. Their loss though!
Watching that darling little 3 year old girl walking around in the stands, where there’s no netting. Maybe it’s just me, but there’s no way I could enjoy one pitch of the game in a similar setting if that’s my child. The only way I could do it would be to have her laying down in a seat right between me and my wifey. That way if a scorching liner came right at her, I could quickly grab my wife to use as a shield in front of her.
And Fowler flys out lamely to left on a 3-0 pitch. I blame MM just as much as I do Dexter here! He should have been adamantly instructed NOT to swing under any circumstances on a 3-0 pitch the way he hasn’t been swinging the bat this year.
Hey that must be a typo up on the scoreboard. It reads that our Cardinals have amassed 9 hits already thru only 6 innings…..but only have 1 run. Can’t be.
For a Fortune 50000 Company, Euro…..and they pay me peanuts!
3-0 on Wong….he better not be a swinging here! And he’s not as he watches a cupcake whizz on by right down Broadway….lays one down the 3rd baseline….Hammel pounces on it and guns Kolten out at 1st by a good step. Munoz drills another hit to left! Come on Pena….pepper one! Is this a replay from a few innings ago! Pena goes fishing half way to China and Munoz once again is gunned out attempting to steal for a DP. Still 3-1 Royals now moving along to the 7th.
Sets a “Fowl” tone if you will, Euro. Cards get out of the 6th thanks to a pitcher’s second best friend….the twin killing. 3-1 KC
Pretty woman sitting behind home plate. And if you owned a team that’s what you want. After all, these visible fans not only represent your team in a way, but also your city. I would absolutely load up that area behind home plate with stunning women….give them a whale of a discount on season tickets and even spice up the deal a bit with some free food & drink accommodations.
Who could blame you, Euro.
Anybody else getting the feeling that one of the improbable duo of Ozuna-Fowler is going to whack a long one here tonight to at least momentarily get back to our good graces?
ISIS would have been proud of Munoz as he nearly decapitated Hammel on a liner back up the middle. Pena pops out and now Weaver should attempt to move Munoz on over to 2nd. Weaver strikes out flailing while Munoz gets taken out attempting to compensate for Weaver’s inability to bunt him over. 2-1 Totals going to the 5th.
Thanks to Euro & Logan!!!! Those are the kind of cub updates we love!!
Nice but not spectacular catch by Wong at 2nd. It looks much tougher than it really is to nab. Royals still occupying both 1st and 2nd bases with 2 down. Up strides Escobar looking to do us some damage. Mission accomplished as far as Escobar is concerned as he slices a double to left plating Merrifield….2nd & 3rd with Hammel up…thank God! Hammel obligingly Whiffs. 2-1 Bad Guys heading to the Redbird 4th.
Wish we had saved 5 of those runs from last night for tonight.
O’Neill continues to impress at the plate. Wong now up with runners at 1st & 3rd with 2 outs in the Cardinal 3rd. And Wong continues to disappoint as he hits a 20 foot infield popup.
cubbies getting pasted by Cleveland 7-0 in the 4th. God knows what they are doing going after Machado…they are in desperate need of a couple quality starters.
Adames has gone yard in his maiden game for Tampa….it it was a shot! Not quite as majestic as any of O’Neill’s, but still pretty nice.
Thanks Wes! Just wanted to express my feelings about our starters tonight, but was too lazy to put it into words. That’s a lemon next to Fowler’s name…but the Lemon Law probably won’t mean much to our younger posters like Euro and stlcard25. The broken heart next to Ozuna’s slot is self explanatory. I’m very excited on what our Kiddie Kards ( O’Neill, Pena & Weaver ) are doing as you can see. The horse next to Weaver denotes my expectations of him eventually being a workhorse on the staff a la Lance Lynn .

9. ??O’Neill won’t go yard every night, But he’s produced more in his last 3 games than Fowler nearly has all year….with Ozuna being in that conversation unfortunately. Belts a majestic dinger to right and follows that up in his next at bat with a ringing double down the line in left. Make you think of Fowler or Ozuna? I think not. Have not checked to see what Marco has been doing, but thinking Mo just may have perpetrated a royal fleecing with the O’Neill acquisition. Time will tell. Just keep trotting “Stretch O’Neill” out there and who knows….maybe he doesn’t relinquish his position for another decade.
