Mikey likey, Booyah! My only possible tweaks would be flip-flopping Pham and Bader….at least until Pham started hitting again. And Jose Martinez in left seems like adventure island just in the waiting. But why not Jose, due to that never ending river of lollipops that Ozuna hurls in to the infield. And of course if any infielders should falter or be injured, you’d have Schrock waiting anxiously in the wings.

Not going to be a banner day system wide. Do not like the probable matchups. Unfortunately, I look for Anthony “Ah” Shew to really have a rough day vs that upstart squad out of San Antonio. If we can somehow gain a split in today’s action, I’ll be turning somersaults left and right.

Here here, Nyquist! The Wongs of the world just are not getting it done. Mendoza Infielder Line Fellows…or MILFs if you will, with good gloves are plentiful. Almost any AA or AAA roster owns at least one of these slick fielding no stick infielders. Like Nyquist said, get Mercado and O’Neill and if I may, I’d definitely add The Rock…. that’s Schrock to the layman, up here. Ozuna, as much as I dislike what I see out of him, you almost have to keep him around in a very limited role for awhile. Fowler….let’s cut our losses and put him out to permanent pasture right now! That’s a heck of a lot of coin thrown right out the window, especially when you add Holland to the mix, but how about finding that winning group of players instead of worrying about how much cash was wasted due to poor decisions. Find that winning group…..and God knows it’s here within the organization, and EVERYBODY will forget all about these bad contracts. This is going to be a super fun team to watch yet, as long as more of the youngsters get their chance. Just look what Bader, Munoz, Flaherty and even O’Neill and Pena have done. Keep them coming, Mo!

Cy Ty unfortunately continues to mow us down with little difficulty. Some how some way we need to solve this guy or they goes Mikolas’ perfect record and more importantly another game behind both Milwaukee and Chicago.

Geesh….wish I still had Mikolas’ hairline! I lost that puppy about 20 years ago.

Carpenter is single handily keeping us in this game with his glove…..how about using your stick now too, Carp. Beautiful game by our 3rd baseman thus far!

Whew! Look what Fowler found in his glove. That was both a close and a lucky play there.

Great play by Carp at 3rd to save another Pirate tally. Have to get Bell here to keep it a 2 run ballgame…Bell flys out to left to end the inning.

Sure didn’t appear that Fowler was doing his best Charlie Hustle impersonation on that one out Frazier triple. Fowler and Ozuna both need to go…..both are offensive and defensive liabilities…
2-0 Pirates on the Cervelli double .
… going to 3rd on the Ozuna error

Like they say, “speed never goes into a slump”……and Bader has loads of it. Love to see him garner ROY honors. Who are this year’s NL contenders anyway?

Before it’s all said and done, I wonder how Bader will be compared to Jimmy E. defensively? Even offensively Bader may end up giving him a run for his money.

And surprise surprise! Cy Taillon sailing right along here….slicing thru that Cards batting order like they were Pee Wee’ers. 1-0 Bucs as we move along to the 4th.

Bases totally occupied with marauding Pirates on the Munoz error…only 1 out. Bell sac fly to left….and what kind of throw was that from Ozuna!!! Honestly….. either Ma or Pa Kettle executes a stronger throw home than that Ozuna lollipop. Mikolas only yields the 1 tally.

Geesh, I wonder if Ozuna will ever go yard again????? Seems like months. I had more confidence in Mick Kelleher going deep back in the day than I do this ex-Floridian.

How much do you want to bet that after Mikolas’ 1st inning walk, that he doesn’t issue another one.

If one unsrambles the letters in “Taillon”, you can come away with “not Ali”….. possibly indicating that this Pirates hurler is not a fighter. This should bode well for us tonight.

Mik sets the first two Bucs down without even a hint of a squabble, but then yields a soft single to center and a most unusual free pass….but then induces Dickerson to meekly ground out to Wong at 2nd.

We had better end up keeping Mikolas after next year concludes. Watch Theo…… he’ll come swoop him away from us in the middle of some cold winter night.

Ha ha CardsRedSox4Ever!! Sure thing….she’s welcome. My wifey and friend are blasting off any minute to the movies. I’m counting the seconds. Game on!!

Funny stuff, UCONN! But the word “Steel” in it’s very title almost makes it a doable thing for we guys….so your husband gets a free pass. I’ve seen the promotional clips on this upcoming ‘Mama Mia’ film and it looks like a lulu. I’d rather watch Game 7 of the 2016 World Series over and over again vs sitting thru 2 hours of that dandy. The only two chic-flics that have ever done anything for me was ‘Prince of Tides’ and ‘Pretty Woman’.

It takes a big man to admit when he’s made a mistake. Kudos to stlcard25!! I too have errored…….I think it was back in ’91 or ’92 though. Hoping for win #7 for The Mick tonight! I predict he’ll finish the campaign at a most respectable 18-5 with a 3.12 era. I’m trying to talk the wifey into going to the movies with her g/f tonight so I can be with you all on this very game thread. Right now it looks like a 50-50 chance. I think I hurt my odds by trying too hard in swaying her to go. I think I’ll go right in there and tell he I would very much prefer her company at home this evening….should be GAME ON then. Get this….she actually thought I might be interested in seeing this total Melissa McCarthy chic-flic ( Life of The Party ) with her tonight. Granted, I love the woman, but not enough to be seen at a movie like this one or worse yet that upcoming ‘Mama Mia’ monstrosity.

All of these posts in this thread and nary one dealing with the topic at hand. Pardon me, but over the years, yours truly has kind of been the board policeman when it comes to we posters staying on topic. Let’s keep our eye on the ball gang! Much much to go over in respect to yesterday’s system wide scores. But I’ll leave that to the experts and just mention that anytime your team strikes out 16 and walks just 3 in a twin bill, the odds are pretty fare that you are going to come away with a sweep. And that is exactly what our upstart Chiefs squad did to Burlington yesterday en route to their 13-7 combined score sweep. May I just reiterate to all of us to keep swinging away with those posts, but do so while keeping your eye on the ball by staying on topic. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
