The only way he opts out is if he thinks he can get a higher annual value on his contract. If he has the type of year where someone would pay him more at 31 than 8years/260 then we’ll probably all be happy with where we’re at come the end of the season.
I liked how when Goldschmidt came up in the 8th the booth tried to make it seem like we should be excited about that for some reason.

Let’s hope Gil is at least as good as his Dad. I was going to say better but his Dad made it to MLB which is more than we can say about most draft picks.
I think the suggestion was that it seems like Mayers was the last one up, in this case because of the injury, but since Brebbia was the first one sent down, that maybe Mayers was always a little safer.
I don’t know enough to say one way or the other, but I believe that was the suggestion by the previous poster.
