Then Matheny needs to start treating his rotation like it is. I realize we don’t have enough quality arms in the pen but Carlos should’ve been pulled. He did run into a little bad luck but still…

Yeah I don’t understand why he seemed to pull him. I mean is that extra 3 innings of rest going to help this team in the offseason?

That was kind of an important ab right there.

6-2 and pretty much over. Offense doesn’t appear to be there.

I think Mathney went with Martinez too long there. I would’ve had someone up an doing with 2 runners on and no out.

When Matheny plays Piscotty he can’t help but bat him over guys who are better hitters.

Be a big confidence boost to take the series but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we didn’t and just got one. Just means you need 10 wins and a sweep of one of your final 4 opponents.

We need to get these guys!

So he dumps Wong who has hit world’s better against lefties this season and has the only hit against Garrett for Mejia.

I just have a bad feeling the lingering effects from last night choice of reliever may spill over. We shall see!

    Memphis wins 6-4

    O’Neill with a homer

    Martini with 2 hits

    Hudson 6 ip 2 ER

El Paso has a lot of guys who’ve played in the ML for more than a cup of coffee. Beating them would be a huge accomplishment.

He had 2+ batters to get someone loose. Basically the replay was an AB because it took so long and then you’ve got Votto. So when the runner was going to be called safe. Which you had to of known you at least get someone up at the latest and let Ryan face Votto.

You just can’t do that when the margin of error is so slim this late in the season and against a team who can beat you with the long ball. Not to mention with the lefty-righty match up.

Flaherty will likely only be in for 5 innings. So the pen better be ready.

I was working. Then came home and saw it was 7-0 and watched my first NFL of the season before I took a nap.

They really need to go 13-6 to make at least the WC. I was thinking 21-9 to close it out at the beginning of the Giants series.

Ahh the point of the game is to score more than your opponent isn’t it?

So while we can piss and moan about guys who don’t get on base enough or have a slight decline in defensive production (Those 2 steals last night were on Lynn). The objective is to score more than your opponent. End of Story!

So don’t treat me like i’m some sort of idiot pal! I buy into OPS and even some idiot stats like clusterluck. You’ll never get me to admit that scoring more runs isn’t the most important stat. Look at the standings! The teams that win the division usually have scored more runs and drive in RBI better than everyone else.

I haven’t seen anything with Kelly that give off the impression that he’s even a Yadi clone. More like the guy we saw in the other dugout this week. Austin Hedges actually more than anything else.

Yes they overpaid him. He might have gotten an extra year from someone else but not the $20 million per. However I don’t get the gripe on PT. This team needs him more than ever. He’s the teams hit leader and RBI producer. So unless you’re complaining about him talking during the national anthem I don’t get what the bellyaching is about.

That only play day games on Holidays and Wednesday in San Diego.

I was watching the same game everyone else was. Watching the team not put runs on the board and Lynn Labour through 6 innings he h should’ve been pulled after 5. Can’t wait for him to lay an egg he next start.

This ain’t Memphis. That lineup flat out might of been the worst put out of the 9 games on the slate yesterday. I know we don’t have a choice but we need Pham and Wong back tonight at least. Playing Majia and Garcia in the same lineup is bad for you health.

Let’s revisit this towards the end of his contract.

I didn’t mind giving him the money. He’s earned it and so far it appears to be a wise investment but he’s got 3 more years. I am predicting a slow decline and more of a timeshare with Kelly with Molina playing 1st about 1-2 days a week in the future.

We can’t put a lineup out there like that again. Matheny got lucky Wed but that lineup tonight will not cut it.

We needs our vets to come back now!

He would help us if there’s any tiebreaker.

Did anyone see what happened on the Piscotty and Garcia gaff.

If that’s carpenter at 3rd we don’t turn that.

Also I never thought about the pirates not wanting him in the Central. Makes me this we claimed jim.on revokable waivers and they yanked him back. Which I guess mean Huntington plan didn’t work.

My guess is we wanted to claim him but the Phillies swooped him up first to grab another prospect.

My guess is we have already made some choices on the 40 man. I’m not upset that was lost him. I’m more upset we didn’t do anything until now. Some are acting like we lost the next Placido
Polonco. We have Wong and Gyorko, Dejong can play 2nd, Garcia and Velera already. It’s ok to lose this guy. It won’t devastate the franchise for years to come.

Will the mean less Oh and Cecil?
