WachaWere kind of handcuffed at the moment. Garcia shouldn’t play against lefties, Fowler’s hip and Wong’s back. Martinez has been swinging sort of a hot bat when he gets playing time but he’s glove and footwork make him an accident waiting to happen.

Martinez out for the 9th and as usual Matheny slow to get the pen up. He was 3-0 to the leadoff batter and 3-1 to the guy after the dp. Then Lyons finally gets up and starts soft tossing and isn’t up currently doing anything.
He threw a ball after his bullpen session Right over my head. I was too lazy or old to jump for it.
Dejong needs to step it up on defense with the corners being challenged.
Lamet is pretty solid for a rookie. The guy can throw some gas and usually throws a first pitch strike.

When the results in the standings lead us back into the playoffs and even then he’s shown a propensity to be slow to the party. This is where a veteran guy like Gardenhire on the bench would do wonders. Even though Magic Mike would look at it as gestapo tactics. We can’t rattle his world one bit now can we?
But this team wants a bunch of yes men! Yes massa, yes sir, no sir, play the had your dealt sonny. Matheny has no stones and is just happy to have a job. Guy doesn’t have balls to go against the company line and demand some trades like someone else would’ve.
Guy will never win a world series here and shouldn’t be the manager of this franchise! Anyone who defends him doesn’t want to win and has been brainwashed by the Cardinal way.
Mike Matheny strikes out all the time. Putting Sheriff against a guy with a .958 OPS against lefties is a perfect example.
Not using Tommy Pham as a PH is another. All indications are he was available and even Pham himself said he’d be ready to go last night?
So if you want to chest thump your Matheny card tomorrow if we win go ahead but almost no one wants to hear it tonight. He’s the manager and he takes the blame when we lose and the players don’t perform or puts them in positions to fail. End of story!
Haven’t you learned by now people. Mike Matheny can’t manage a bullpen. He can barely manage at all and isn’t good enough to manage this franchise.
