regardless of what happens in that other game, we gain either way. After the last 2 vs Cincy,and this series… a day off is much needed
I agree Euro,but I have a feeling they’ll bring Norris in because he didn’t pitch yesterday and we have a day off tomorrow.. Hope I’m wrong though .
Lets not blame Maddux for Hudson not throwing strikes… Hudson is the same pitcher who got machado to ground out with the bases loaded. Same pitcher who with the bases loaded and 1 out… got a double. This all happened since his call up. He had an off night,it happens to even the greatest of pitchers regardless of who the pitching coach is.
An overworked bullpen in August is showing in September. Schildt has to start letting his starters pitch out of their own jams. If any Cardinal starter gives up 2 base runners past the 4th, They’ll be pulled without given a chance to get out of it. Sure, its great if the bullpen holds the runners but over time its gonna catch up.. Anyone know How many innings the starters pitched as compared to the bullpen? in August.
You knew eventually the series streak was going to come to an end, and doesn’t it seem whenever a streak comes to an end in any sport, that it’s against a team you least at expect it.
We had our chances esp in the 9th,but sometimes you just have to tip your cap to other teams pitcher and say nice job.
Whatever the rest of the season may hold for the Cardinals,I wanna say right now… good job boys for making it a race and not giving up. Also I commend Schildt for playing the youngsters and putting them in to start games and putting them in key spots within the game. It’s not so much how they perform but that they get a feel for what it’s like to play September baseball with a playoff berth on the line.
We still have a chance to end on an 11 or 12 game series win streak.Go Cardinals!!
I’m with you NJ. I don’t like Norris either. We need a dominant closer which Norris is not. A dominant closer shouldn’t have an era over 3. Also I’m sure some of his saves were of the 3 run lead.
Predictions for the Game.
1. Poncedeleon makes an appearance.
2. Carp and Paul De go deep.
3. GW. hit comes 7th inn or later.
4. Cardinals win 5-2
5. ESPN cameras show Bryant in dugout at least 3×With a victory tomorrow, not only does it give us the series sweep but also guarantees a season series win.
