ParticipantThis is unbelievable. No outs bases loaded. Martinez, Ozuna, DeJong all fail.
September 2, 2018 at 4:26 pm #67910NJ315
ParticipantThis offense needs to wake up pronto.
September 2, 2018 at 4:26 pm #67911NJ315
ParticipantNorris in
September 2, 2018 at 4:26 pm #67912Oh oh….I think you are 100% correct, NJ. I think I broke out the portly lady reference a bit too early….served me right! If we go on to lose this, I won’t sleep a wink tonight!
September 2, 2018 at 4:27 pm #67913NJ315
ParticipantHe better not mess around at all.
September 2, 2018 at 4:28 pm #67914
stlcard25ParticipantHorrid performance that half inning.
September 2, 2018 at 4:28 pm #67915Geesh, I don’t think the Reds have themselves a hit for about the last 6 innings.
September 2, 2018 at 4:28 pm #67916The conga line brothers and Captain swing at everything have left 17 men on base today. You can’t do that and witness a bases loaded situation with no one out and win can you?
Daniel Murphy folks! Would’ve been what the doctor ordered for this ball club but we dumpster dive with Matt Adams.
September 2, 2018 at 4:31 pm #67917NJ315
ParticipantBut of course he will.
September 2, 2018 at 4:33 pm #67918NJ315
ParticipantThere is your game. Putrid.
September 2, 2018 at 4:34 pm #67919NJ315
ParticipantI am not even watching the rest. Thanks offense thanks Norris.
September 2, 2018 at 4:34 pm #67920Suarez bombs one to left and the Reds seize a 2 run lead!
Hope you guys don’t hold this against me.
September 2, 2018 at 4:34 pm #67921NJ315
ParticipantNah Pugs this is mainly on Martinez both of them.
September 2, 2018 at 4:35 pm #67922NJ315
ParticipantBack to back. Sad
September 2, 2018 at 4:35 pm #67923Now Dickson dongs one to left and it’s 6-3 Reds
September 2, 2018 at 4:37 pm #67924NJ315
ParticipantMartinez had the bases loaded and not outs. I hope they sit his butt down for a while. The games was there for the taking. I don’t like Norris at all but he has been good. Today he picked the wrong day to stink.
September 2, 2018 at 4:38 pm #67925Two things: 1) Why did the Cardinals want Matt Adams back. I haven’t seen him do anything other than strike out. 2) I am not sure how Jose Martinez is having a decent batting average. Pitch him low and outside and he hacks at it. No use in throwing it for a strike, he hacks at anything low and outside.
September 2, 2018 at 4:38 pm #67926Terrible loss. This one highlights the deficiencies of lineup construction, and foremost, roster construction. Now we perhaps waste Flaherty against Scherzer. Just don’t get it.
September 2, 2018 at 4:39 pm #67927It’s just not this one loss that troubles me….if we do indeed go on to lose this. It’s how we lost it with all of the golden opportunities we had to put this in the win column….it’s been known to send teams in a tailspin.
September 2, 2018 at 4:40 pm #67928NJ315
ParticipantI agree let Flaherty get the series win against the Reds but the way the offense is going not a sure thing he would have.
September 2, 2018 at 4:42 pm #67929NJ315
ParticipantI know he has been good but I dislike Norris so much. It just personal I guess. What a terrible performance. Incoming Cecil!
September 2, 2018 at 4:44 pm #67930NJ315
ParticipantMaybe Voit would have come through with the bases loaded. How can you not bring that run in????
September 2, 2018 at 4:45 pm #67931I have been outraged more about the hitters who strike out when we needed to move runners than anything else on this team. The Cardinal Way is to move runners around, steal bases, sacrifice, get the fly ball or ground ball that scores a run. Manufactured runs win more games than solo home runs.
I wouldn’t let a player leave Spring Training until he demonstrated the understanding that Ks are never acceptable, and hitting involves more than personal glory. We lost this game twice. We began the game with runners on first and second, and Martinez struck out. We lost it again when we struck out rather than getting a run home with runners on first and third and the game tied. Finally, Martinez, —with the bases loaded and nobody out, I’d rather see you bunt. Better chance of a squeeze than hitting a fly ball.
September 2, 2018 at 4:47 pm #67932I’m with you NJ. I don’t like Norris either. We need a dominant closer which Norris is not. A dominant closer shouldn’t have an era over 3. Also I’m sure some of his saves were of the 3 run lead.

ParticipantLOB Martinez 5 DeJong 5 Wisdom 5 but the winner is Or loser depending on how you view it Ozuna with 7!!!
