I still don’t see Bader or O’Neill besting Fowler and Ozuna next year.
Besting Fowler in terms of what? Defense? He has been among the worst in the league the last two years. Offense? It’s difficult to perform worse than he has this year and get playing time.
The Cardinals need to end this philosophy where size of contract determines playing time and make it a meritocracy. It is sports, after all.
July 28, 2018 at 4:07 pm #62706I feel in a couple years, Munoz will be like another Baez or Segura
July 28, 2018 at 4:21 pm #62710I’ve been viewing Muñoz similar to Placido Polanco for the type of value he adds to a team.

stlcard25ParticipantI’ve been viewing Muñoz similar to Placido Polanco for the type of value he adds to a team.
So he’s gonna be traded for Nolan Arenado next year? Sweet!!

stlcard25ParticipantThe Cubs have just hung around after that big first for the Cards. Looks like Dakota Hudson is gonna make his debut in the 7th here.
July 28, 2018 at 5:07 pm #62716Looks like a fair comparison, Euro. I may be a bit off base here, but I liken young Munoz to a Scipio Spinks-Shawn Dunston type. Looks like it’s Hudson time.
July 28, 2018 at 5:10 pm #62717Whiffs Schwarber swinging for openers!
July 28, 2018 at 5:10 pm #62718
stlcard25ParticipantHudson K’s Schwarber with a nice slider.
July 28, 2018 at 5:12 pm #62719
stlcard25ParticipantAnother K. Sweet!
July 28, 2018 at 5:12 pm #62720Hudson is going to think this league is easy as he sets Happ down in the same fashion as Schwarber was dispatched.
July 28, 2018 at 5:13 pm #62721Nice debut.
July 28, 2018 at 5:14 pm #62722Hudson retires the side in his STL debut. 2 K’s and a ground out.
July 28, 2018 at 5:14 pm #62723O’Neill and Bader are already besting Fowler and Ozuna in WAR and doing it in far fewer at bats.
July 28, 2018 at 5:14 pm #62724The kid has nice smooth and easy delivery……I think we may have a sturdy horse on our hands here gang.
July 28, 2018 at 5:17 pm #62725
stlcard25ParticipantIf Hudson can get his control tuned a little more, he will be an elite bullpen arm, or a pretty good starter. I still like the idea of the Triple H’s being in the bullpen next year…Helsley, Hudson and Hicks.
July 28, 2018 at 5:19 pm #62726
stlcard25ParticipantSpeaking of Hicks…he’s coming in for the 8th? Seems like maybe too much but with the bullpen struggles this year, I get not chancing it.
July 28, 2018 at 5:19 pm #62727Geesh Jose looks like a big lumbering lug up at the dish! He should be able to hit .280 on looks alone.
July 28, 2018 at 5:21 pm #62728Now there’s the Marcell we’ve all come to know and……… know.
July 28, 2018 at 5:24 pm #62729Hudson is a starting pitcher being used in a relief role. Why not allow him to pitch more than one inning?
July 28, 2018 at 5:26 pm #62731Looks Bote might be a bit follicley challenged under that helmet of his.
July 28, 2018 at 5:27 pm #62732Thats what I thought too, Cardinals2016.
July 28, 2018 at 5:29 pm #62733Neatly turned 6-4-3 twin killing thwarts any kind of scoring notions Chicago may have had in the 8th…..still 6-2 Good Guys.
July 28, 2018 at 5:36 pm #62737I think these shift alignments really have some batters totally “fowled” up……Dexter being one of them.
July 28, 2018 at 5:40 pm #62741
stlcard25ParticipantNorris in, but not a save situation. Hoping for a nice quick inning and a 2-0 start to the series.
July 28, 2018 at 5:42 pm #62745
stlcard25ParticipantBud must have psyched Heyward out with the two near HBP. Comes back with the K
