Gnats strike again. This bullpen simply cannot get out of their own way this series. And I can’t understand why Mikolas even came back for the 7th at his pitch count.

Hudson has been good, just was not tonight. Then again, Mikolas should never have been sent out to start the inning.

Edmonds questions why Hudson is still in the game

Hudson always seems to have issues throwing strikes and he has personally allowed Nats to be within 1 and he still can’t get a SINGLE OUT!

Do we have a pitching coach somewhere in the system that can teach our staff how to throw strikes? I know the game has led to power pitching and that leads to less control, but geesh.

An overworked bullpen in August is showing in September. Schildt has to start letting his starters pitch out of their own jams. If any Cardinal starter gives up 2 base runners past the 4th, They’ll be pulled without given a chance to get out of it. Sure, its great if the bullpen holds the runners but over time its gonna catch up.. Anyone know How many innings the starters pitched as compared to the bullpen? in August.

In all of the chaos last inning and Bader just barely missing on a couple of crucial plays (just missing the catch and just missing the assist on the play at the plate), it’s ironic that my takeaway is to say watching Bader roam center field is almost worth the price of admission in and of itself. If this guy can stay explosive and healthy for many years, his impact will be hard to overstate.

Lets not blame Maddux for Hudson not throwing strikes… Hudson is the same pitcher who got machado to ground out with the bases loaded. Same pitcher who with the bases loaded and 1 out… got a double. This all happened since his call up. He had an off night,it happens to even the greatest of pitchers regardless of who the pitching coach is.

Wasn’t blaming Maddux, our staff has struggled with the strike zone for a few years.

Look on the bright side, we could have Norris pitching with a 1 run lead….

I’d like to see CMart close it out. Please don’t bring in you know who.

Of course we don’t know what we’re going to get with Martinez due to his erratic control, but if he is solid in the 8th, don’t you have to let him go again in the 9th?

We need good Carlos tonight, and preferably for 2 innings.

They need a new position for their mic. The clapping from that person all the time is annoying.

Nice play by Dejong there. Harper up now. Could be the at bat of the game here.
