I loved him. The first manager I remember in the Cardinals dugout. Stan and Red exemplified the very best of what wearing the Birds on the Bat should mean – class, graciousness and humility.
Speaking of great names, Pugs, do you remember when we had Wes Swackhamer playing at Quad Cities? That name rang of the Majors. Alas, he couldn’t swack enough to ascend.
