St. Louis press release says Meisner will open at Springfield. More details to come in the article coming.
Time to add Meisner to the Springfield rotation mix. They have plenty of rotation candidates – Greene, Gonzalez, Jones, Woodford, Tewes, and Fernandez.

Hicks’ final line – 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 6 GO’s. He threw only 41 pitches and looked more than a one-trick, late-inning relief pony today.
Hicks looking like he may be ready for Triple-A Memphis, though unlikely. He’s through three scoreless innings on 34 pitches against a lineup that includes Adam Eaton, Anthony Rendon, Bryce Harper, Matt Adams, Howie Kendrick, and Trea Turner.

Per State College Spikes Twitter account, Cardinals prospect Jorge Rodriguez passed away at home in the Dominican today due to a year-long battle with bone cancer. He was 24.

Maybe Knizner could expand his versatility beyond first base to the tune of playing at the hot corner again. He certainly has the look to man the position still.
