Matt Bowman vs. TBA. (It was to be Sandy Alcantara, but he was sent down to Triple-A.) 1:05 p.m. ET first pitch. No TV or radio. Streaming only.

Continuing the recent pattern, regular starter Michael Wacha will throw against minor leaguers instead.

I’d like to see how Sexton does, if he gets to the mound today. He got 5 starts in June last season for Peoria with varying success. He should find a spot in the PB bullpen to open ’18. 51K/47IP 2.38ERA 1.21WHIP and.256BA. There were many positives written about him during last season…. he’ll be 24 in July.

Brian I know you’ve done these for years (both st and regular season) but just thought I’d throw up a thank you anyway.

It is interesting to see things play out even if I don’t comment everyday. So damn busy :-s

Anyone know the story on Gallen this Spring. Only 2.2 terrible innings but still apparently in major league camp. Seems strange.

    Thanks, BrianP.

Cards lead 8-3 through 3. DeJong had a two-run, wind-aided HR. Hicks touched 100 mph and had two Ks, but also gave up a double and an RBI single.

Carpenter and Ozuna homered back to back to increase the lead to 11-4 through T6.

In total, Hicks was charged with 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings on three hits and a walk. 4 Ks. Bailed out of a jam in his third inning by Lyons or it could have been worse.

Nice to see Cecil (n0t) earning that contract he got last offseason. I have a feeling this will go down as one of Mo’s worst FA signings.

Cecil allowed a walk, single, double, two runs in just one inning. Now 11-6 going into the ninth.

He also managed a wild pitch in that same inning.

Luckily, none of these innings will count once we get to March 29.
