Matt Bowman vs. TBA. (It was to be Sandy Alcantara, but he was sent down to Triple-A.) 1:05 p.m. ET first pitch. No TV or radio. Streaming only.
Continuing the recent pattern, regular starter Michael Wacha will throw against minor leaguers instead.

ParticipantI’d like to see how Sexton does, if he gets to the mound today. He got 5 starts in June last season for Peoria with varying success. He should find a spot in the PB bullpen to open ’18. 51K/47IP 2.38ERA 1.21WHIP and.256BA. There were many positives written about him during last season…. he’ll be 24 in July.
March 21, 2018 at 11:09 am #45982Brian I know you’ve done these for years (both st and regular season) but just thought I’d throw up a thank you anyway.
It is interesting to see things play out even if I don’t comment everyday. So damn busy :-s
March 21, 2018 at 11:16 am #45984Anyone know the story on Gallen this Spring. Only 2.2 terrible innings but still apparently in major league camp. Seems strange.
March 21, 2018 at 1:32 pm #45985Thanks, BrianP.
Cards lead 8-3 through 3. DeJong had a two-run, wind-aided HR. Hicks touched 100 mph and had two Ks, but also gave up a double and an RBI single.
March 21, 2018 at 2:02 pm #45986Encouraging news on Hicks:
https://twitter.com/JoeTrezz/status/976529138944237568March 21, 2018 at 2:15 pm #45987Carpenter and Ozuna homered back to back to increase the lead to 11-4 through T6.
In total, Hicks was charged with 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings on three hits and a walk. 4 Ks. Bailed out of a jam in his third inning by Lyons or it could have been worse.
March 21, 2018 at 2:53 pm #45988Nice to see Cecil (n0t) earning that contract he got last offseason. I have a feeling this will go down as one of Mo’s worst FA signings.
March 21, 2018 at 2:54 pm #45990Cecil allowed a walk, single, double, two runs in just one inning. Now 11-6 going into the ninth.
March 21, 2018 at 2:58 pm #45991He also managed a wild pitch in that same inning.
March 21, 2018 at 3:03 pm #45992Cards win 13-6. Tuivailala closes out the 9th inning.
March 21, 2018 at 3:04 pm #45993Luckily, none of these innings will count once we get to March 29.
March 21, 2018 at 3:17 pm #45994Cards are now 13-11-2 on the spring.
