Good to hear Rats. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately if this is another one like Sunday), yours truly won’t be watching as I will be at our local SABR chapter’s board meeting. I am the treasuerer for our local chapter and am thus obligated to attend. We are meeting at brew pub for a little beer and baseball-related banter concerning our local group.
Meanwhile din-din was a big ole salad. I cooked up a salmon filet on the grille a couple of days ago, and the Lovely Lady Bike and I got out all our vegetables – lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, beets, red onions, cucumber, and probaly a couple of other things and put mega salads together, topped with chunks of salmon. Lady Bike used up the rest of the chunk blue cheese dressing, so I used ranch on mine. Oh, and a buddy I met up with last weekend gave us some onion bread he and his wife made – really good stuff. Had a slice of that with the salad.

He’s only 23 – if he was 28 then yeah. But this was really a case where Gorman was so bad, let’s force feed Jordan and see how he does.
Like bling said, he could use more time in 3A.

August 25, 2026 at 5:19 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #133 thread – Tuesday, August 25 vs. Baltimore Orioles #317167Alright, the former Brownies return to the Midwest to play in front of the St. Louis fans. I hope we see a few “Paige”, “Sisler” and “”Wertz” Browns jerseys among the 15K or so faithful in the ball park.
Looking at those starter ERAs we could see some runs on the board. Gorman is back – how exciting….yawn…
August 23, 2026 at 5:37 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #132 thread – Sunday, August 23 at Philadelphia Phillies #317006It does seem that Herrera is getting in to “Gorman” territory as far as a guy that is not looking like his future is here. Obviously he’s not a bust to the same degree as Nolan II, but his primary defensive position has plenty of other options, and his main value, offense, has not been there all year.
But the powers that be will need to get an agreement together first. Let’s hope intelligence rules the day and they pull things together relatively quick so we can move on to purely baseball matters.
August 23, 2026 at 3:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #132 thread – Sunday, August 23 at Philadelphia Phillies #316984I am sure it’s happened, but don’t recall a worse melt down by a closer. Kept getting two strikes on the hitters and could not put them away.

August 23, 2026 at 3:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #132 thread – Sunday, August 23 at Philadelphia Phillies #316974You get the sense Schwarber will launch one.
August 23, 2026 at 3:17 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #132 thread – Sunday, August 23 at Philadelphia Phillies #316971Surprised OB is still in there, but you don’t usually warm anyone when your closer is on the mound.
August 23, 2026 at 3:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #132 thread – Sunday, August 23 at Philadelphia Phillies #316967Wow…
August 22, 2026 at 7:50 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #131 thread – Saturday, August 22 at Philadelphia Phillies #316879Yep, just come back out tomorrow and salvage one. This was one of those where they say “you will win a third and lose a third – it’s what you do with the other third that makes the difference.” This was in our “lose a third” category.

August 22, 2026 at 6:24 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #131 thread – Saturday, August 22 at Philadelphia Phillies #316864About all you can say to Mathews is “welcome to the big leagues kid.”
August 22, 2026 at 9:00 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #130 thread – Friday, August 21 at Philadelphia Phillies #316824Fermin did not play that ball well, but it was a tough play. Those balls hit right at you like that are the toughest to judge, but Jose is not a CFer. Curt Flood, Jim Edmonds, Willie McGee and Victor Scott would have had it. Probably Nate Church as well. Tough to lose on that, but it happens.
Get ‘em today.
Interesting. Related party transactions can and have been used as a means to keep a business afloat, as you can manipulate the value of assets to some degree, and push the credit side off your balance sheet and on to the related party.
But at least for public companies, related party transactions get a lot of scrutiny in audits and if anything is fraudulent you will get busted. Companies have been forced to shut down due to unscrupulous related party valuations. We will see if this results in anything underhanded in the case of the Dodgers.

August 18, 2026 at 8:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #127 thread – Tuesday, August 18 at Cincinnati Reds #316503Winn’s stellar game leads the win. Pitching was magnifico.
Watched most of it – just did not post until now. Good one to watch.
August 17, 2026 at 6:59 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316379I was not a big fan of Burly early on, as he seemed too one-dimensional. But the way he has handled first base, and can hit to all fields, well he is just a solid player.
He and Walker at 3 and 4 is some good punch. If Baez ends up being a 30 homer guy then we really have something. We will see how things shake out over the coming seasons.
August 16, 2026 at 5:21 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316357Looked safe to me as well – took way too long to decide though.
And that’s your ball game. Nice series win
as the bats really came alive after the shutout Friday.August 16, 2026 at 5:13 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316355Yeah, I was surprised they did not keep Graceffo out there in a blowout, with a heavy load coming up.
That play at first looks like the old thing we used to say as kids, “tie goes to the runner.”
August 16, 2026 at 5:01 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316353Graceffo shaky, but with a 9 run lead in the 8th, now 8, not too much to stress about.
August 16, 2026 at 4:52 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316349Walker is really strong going the other way. I like seeing him do that as his problem had been swinging over those pitches on the outer half. All he has to do is square those up and they have a chance to go.
Really glad Ollie moved him back to a run producing slot.

August 16, 2026 at 4:48 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316347Hey, maybe Walker is getting his mojo back.
August 16, 2026 at 4:41 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316345Man, what was Jordan thinking? Two strike pitch right there and he watches it “like the house on the side of the road” as Ernie Harrell used to say.
August 16, 2026 at 4:35 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316343The long haired righty looking good so far. “Guitar” Gastelum with good stuff.
August 16, 2026 at 4:32 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316341Man, two fastballs grooved down the middle and Crooks swung through both. He really has not shown much in his trial at the top level.
Now guys will adjust and come around after a rough start, but you really want to see a little more contact from him.
Carson Kelly was hyped quite a bit coming up and struggled early. But he’s still plugging away in the bigs. Not a star but a decent player.
August 16, 2026 at 4:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316340I don’t really see Clark in Baez’ swing. He kind of reminds me of Reggie Smith when Reggie was hitting right handed.
August 16, 2026 at 4:21 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #124 thread – Sunday, August 16 at Chicago Cubs #316339Dobbins good, but the command was a little off. Gastelum does not inspire confidence, but lets hope he can at least keep it from getting scary
