Eventually Blaze Jordan is going to have to take the training wheels off and try to improve his OPS. We don’t need a singles hitter at 3B. The reason we traded for him was his potential to do damage.

Winn makes plays at SS that few in the league can make. Yes he needs to improve his bat but the Cards a better team with him on the field.

True. He looks like such a different hitter than he was in AAA, I tend to think it is by design. If he is acclimating to ML pitching this year by focusing on bat control, I am OK with it. For anyone old enough to remember playing two man pepper with a friend, he sometimes reminds me of a guy playing it up there. Put a bat on it or turn around and go chase it. Hit it back to your friend or stand around waiting for him to go chase it. Kids good at it could wear themselves out before either one had to chase after a ball. It will be interesting to see how he rolls out in ST after the off season. Assuming ST happens.

Seems like it took Baez a minute to dig that out and get it back in allowing the third run to score. The replay didn’t show the action in the corner.

He got way too close to the ball in the corner instead of playing the carom like an experienced LF would. Did the same thing on Harper’s double.

If it was my high school team back in the 70s, Riley could look forward to having to wash the socks and jocks after the game. They don’t do that stuff anymore. The authorities would get involved.
