As I have mentioned in other threads I saw Molina pitch in college here at Arkansas. He was one of our better pitchers and I was thrilled when the Cards drafted him. I was more bullish on him than others in our prospect rankings last winter but I would say he has even exceeded my expectations so far.
June 30, 2026 at 4:11 pm #311474All I had to do was open up my 2026 TCN Prospect Guide and, as Brian said, the fully detailed report was right there. I’m going to pull my Guide out and find out if there are any other Mason Molina types that have emerged.
July 2, 2026 at 12:05 pm #311637Big news for the #stlcards system coming from Springfield. LHP Cooper Hjerpe has been activated from the injured list. It is exactly two years to the day since the 25-year-old last threw a Double-A pitch – on July 2, 2024. Hjerpe is The Cardinal Nation's eighth-ranked prospect. pic.twitter.com/tWMZGNWhpu

July 2, 2026 at 1:42 pm #311646It is worth noting that Hjerpe is 25 years old, this is his 5th year in the system, he has 14 innings above A ball and that was two years ago.
July 4, 2026 at 9:11 pm #311920I just don’t see a need for keeping Blewitt around. I know veterans are needed, but he has lived up to his last more than occasionally. I would seriously look at Findlay. The Redbirds could use a lefty reliever.
July 4, 2026 at 9:19 pm #311923As documented in the Pitcher of the Month article, Blewett was one of the very best pitchers in the entire system in June (0.75 ERA in 12 IP). For the season, he leads Memphis in saves with six of seven. He has 57 Ks against just 18 BBs in 43 1/3 innings.
Similar to the Zimmermann discussion, he may or may never contribute to St. Louis, but he has been useful.
On the other hand, since 6/1, Findlay has given up 11 runs, 10 earned, in 13 1/3 innings for a 6.59 ERA. He walked 12 in that time. It would be a strangely-timed promotion.

July 4, 2026 at 9:38 pm #311931I just believe, as you said, Blewitt won’t help the big league club. His lifetime numbers are not good. He gave up 2 homers and 4 runs tonight. In what was a tie game became a 4 run deficit.
July 5, 2026 at 12:32 am #311981Wow, I did not realize how poorly our bullpen prospects have been doing. Only Rajcic, Druessen, Gastelum and Burns have put up numbers worthy of mention. I would add Findlay and Galle also as they have done well at lower levels before getting hit harder after a promotion. Burns is injured, and Racjic got promoted. So that leaves Gastelum and possibly Rincon (who has pitched well recently) as a candidate for the STL bullpen. The others are far away from the bigs. I guess I’ll have to retract cutting Blewitt. The only other option is moving starters to relief, which is a last option.
July 6, 2026 at 3:04 pm #312114Injury news for the #stlcards. RHR Max Rajcic hits the 15-day IL with a right elbow injury. RHR Gordon Graceffo returns from Memphis.

July 7, 2026 at 7:18 am #312185Dobbins is also coming up to start one of the DH games Tuesday.
Good morning. Cardinals are promoting Luis Gastelum for his MLB debut ahead of today’s doubleheader, a source with direct knowledge says. Will require a 40-man spot as well as an active roster spot.

July 7, 2026 at 7:27 am #312188The current problem is not enough arms to cover the innings needed, not too many.
July 7, 2026 at 9:52 am #312202Correction from Jones. Gastelum is not coming up today.

July 7, 2026 at 2:50 pm #312238I’m guessing they knew they were going to add Zimmerman for this double heade. He js expendable like Shuster. And dont they have to are roster move by adding Zimmerman?
July 8, 2026 at 12:03 pm #312318The #stlcards are promoting two standouts from the Dominican Summer League team to the US to finish the 2026 schedule in the Florida Complex League – LHS Hendrick Caña (p) and IF Yeferson Portolatin. pic.twitter.com/xjQMDVMqeF

cardsfan64ParticipantSome backfill depth since we just DFA’d two pitchers who may or may not come back. He may not ever make it to the MLB team, but looks like a placeholder at least.
We have signed RHP Durbin Feltman to a minor league contract and assigned him to Memphis (AAA).
The 29-year-old joins the organization after posting a 2.08 ERA, 0.77 WHIP & 5 Saves across 13 appearances with the American Association's Kansas City Monarchs this season, where he… pic.twitter.com/56vEtzAwU4

cardsfan64ParticipantCaraballo moving up as well!
C Heriberto Caraballo has been transferred from Palm Beach (A) to Peoria (A+).
LHP Hendrick Caña & INF Yeferson Portolatin have been transferred from the DSL to the FCL Cardinals.

cardsfan64ParticipantI just noticed that the new pitcher we signed, Feltman, was drafted by Boston in 2018. Chaim went there in 2019, so he has seen this guy pitch when he first became a professional ballplayer! May have had a part to play in this signing!
July 8, 2026 at 5:31 pm #312339Was Shuster on the roster for a while? He’s coming and going so much it’s hard to keep track.
July 8, 2026 at 6:03 pm #312340
cardsfan64ParticipantSchuster was on the roster for one day this time. He replaced Zimmerman between games (doubleheader) and pitched in the 2nd game, and was DFA’d today to make room for Gastelum. So Zimmernan and Schuster were both brought up to the big league team the same day and both were DFA’d after they pitched! We will see if either or both of them clear waivers and return to Memphis or go elsewhere.
July 9, 2026 at 11:31 am #312401This Feltman is an interesting signing. He has a good amount of strikeouts, butlast pitched minor league baseball in 2023. He pitched at AAA before getting cut. Will he be at Springfield or Memphis?
July 10, 2026 at 8:21 am #312462
cardsfan64ParticipantOF Tai Peete (A+) has been placed on the 7-day IL.
— Cardinals Player Development (@CardsPlayerDev) July 9, 2026
July 10, 2026 at 8:28 am #312463Didn’t he just get off the IL?
