    Paid - Annual

have an $85 Million guy at DH/1B where we already have min wage guys who can do that.

    Totally agree.

I’ve commented before that I would like to see Herrera at 1B. But I’d be okay with Burleson there.

The trouble with trading Contreras is that he is going to want more years if he is traded. Time and time again, the Cardinals, and many other teams, find themselves ‘over a barrel’ because of that NTC. I wish they would address that in the next CBA along with many other things. Speaking of the next CBA, I am really skeptical about whether the 2027 season even gets played. In looking at the chaos in the world around us, it’s difficult to imagine the negotiations not turning into a fist fight, if not an all out war.

Billionaires vs Millionaires. Maybe they will wipe each other out.

It is possible that some of the pitching prospects could be traded for hitting prospects.

I saw this transaction and was very confused, because the roster matrix indicated that we re-signed Rincon. Then I looked closer:

11/25/25 – Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent RHP Hansel Rincon to a minor league contract.

First name is spelled different. Hancel compared to Hansel.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Saw this transaction a day late:

12/11/25 – DSL Cardinals released RHP Pedro Olivero.

Making some room for new signees coming in January, or maybe someone they sign before the deadline on Dec. 15 this year!

2 names I find interesting. 1) Gerson Moreno, a hard throwing reliever who once was a top 30 prospect for Detroit. Throws upper 90s , but has control issues. He had a nice, but brief stint with Memphis.

    2) Ryan Murphy was selected in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft. He had an an amazing debut as a pro. While he doesn’t overpower batters with his fastball, he does have very goid command. I’m not sure how he will be used, as he has started most of his minor league career. He strikes out more than a batter per inning pitched.

I think both pitchers could be helpful for depth, and an outside chance of helping St Louis.

Matt Koperniak has cleared waivers and will be back in Memphis.

If he’s hitting at Memphis, he could very well get some major league AB in 2026. I hope so.

Come on, 1982 Willie. Don’t be such a grinch. What about if we, at least, give Koperniak a few major league AB’s so he can get a Cardinals jersey and have a story to tell his kids some day? It’s not as if our beloved Cardinals are going to be chasing a flag in 2026.

Check the Roster Matrix thread for Brians write-ups of acquisitions, CFICT. Your Pozo contract question is likely answered there.

Why is Morosi grandstanding Shusters mlb playing time? It was bad. The lefty thing is no reason whether we trade JoJo or not. “Good chance” he’s John King or worse w/out an arb salary, so he gets a minors deal. Lets have a parade, Morosi!

I made similar comments in my article. (Just a wild guess, but Morosi may be stroking the player’s agent, who could have been who fed him the “scoop”.)

It might turn out to be a good pickup. Im not counting on it but it doesnt hurt. Not a lot of money involved. Really no downside to the deal for both parties. I wish him the best.
