Maybe they are getting smarter? Maybe Bloom has a different philosophy?

That could be, I have no idea. It just reminded me of when Harris got let go rather precipitously when out with arm trouble.

Not that it matters, but I remember history differently. Harris hurt his elbow in 2015, did not pitch for all of 2016 but was not released until May 2017. So I don’t understand the use of “precipitously” in his case. Further, he never pitched again for anyone professionally, majors or minors. So maybe there was no conspiracy. Maybe he was just done and it was time to move on. But I know that is really boring…

And if Kloff follows the same pattern due to his shoulder, it was the right decision to let him go, too.

    bottom part cut off reads:
RHP Henry Gomez (ATH), RHP Trent Baker (MIN), C Aaron McKeithan (PIT), RHP Brandon Komar (CIN), SS Lizandro Espinoza (ATL) & RHP Augusto Calderon (PHI) were selected from our system in the Triple-A Phase of the Rule 5 Draft.

I’m a bit surprised Trent Baker and Brandon Komar weren’t protected on the AAA roster – especially Komar who I really liked. I guess Cincinnati liked him too. I’m fine with losing the others.

Good for Connor Thomas. I hope he does well against everyone but the Cardinals. I enjoyed watching him pitch in person one time in Memphis plus lots of times online. Milwaukee will probably turn him into a 3.00 ERA starter knowing them.

I wonder if Bloom was in charge of who goes on the AAA roster. He is in charge of minor leagues, is he not?

The players I will want to keep an eye on from this MiLB Rule 5 draft are Oddonier Mosqueda and Miguel Ugueto, both selected from the Red Sox organization.

This is a bit old, but a new name appeared at catcher that I had not seen.

Also just saw this note from the transaction page:

01/28/25 – Memphis Redbirds released RHP Victor Santos.

I’m not too surprised by Victor Santos being released. The team is in for a real roster crunch for upper minors pitching spots.

The above video shows what the compiler believes to be the best 2024 outfield assists. Interestingly, 4 of the 5 are Burelson……..

I guess this answers some questions about Victor!
