Anyone know what is going on with Conner Thomas? He is only on the 7 day IL, but has been all year. Will he be returning soon, or out for the year? I was really looking forward to seeing him pitch this year after his AFL showing.
Thomas pitched until the beginning of June. As I understand, if he wasn’t expected to return this year he would have been put on the 60 day.

The other part of the transaction is that Connor Thomas has been activated. All cf64 had to do was ask!!! 😉

With the crowded infield now, I would expect Kramer Robertson will be let go in the next week. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Casey Lawrence is gone too because our starting pitching is now more than full. No reason to really see what the 35 year old has to offer unless they want to put him in St Louis to eat innings and be kicked around so that our young guys don’t have to.
For the minors, I’m most interested in watching whether they challenge Bedell and Paniagua or not given that both are rule 5 eligible. Do they keep them down at A+ and essentially try to hide them there so that a team won’t take them or do they challenge them with AA or even AAA opportunities to see what they really can do against better hitters. Now that our coffers are more full, I’m betting on the former, but I’m still watching to see.

08/03/23 – RHP Zack Showalter assigned to Palm Beach Cardinals from Peoria Chiefs.
This latter change may be a correction. When Showalter was acquired, the Cards said he was assigned to PB, but MiLB.com placed him at Peoria. It was probably a holding pattern as PB was already at 30 players until they cleared roster space today.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Yes. Mikolas was suspended.

I saw this on the MiLB transaction page, and it doesn’t make sense. This has to be a mistake.
