Gomber settles down after the double and a walk to get out of the inning unscathed (in no small part due to a nice play by Dejong).
Wong starts us off with something that we couldn’t get from Sanchez in October…an extra base hit. Carlson moves him over and Dejong with the sac fly for the 1-0 lead.
I think Taylor (who runs well) would have scored from second on that single to right (without the bunt), but I would like to have seen Carlson’s arm/throw.
Gomber got through his two innings. Being his first time out, having location issues was not surprising. Two doubles, a single and a walk.
Yes, Juan Soto is really good. His two-run HR put the Nats up, 3-1, in the third. Elledge finally got the third out with the bases loaded, after what could have been a bases-clearing double past third base was called foul by ump Angel Hernandez.
Reyes started throwing again and still could come in, but he has been throwing in the pen for about 30 minutes. 35 pitch limit and all…
Update: Reyes is coming in now. He should be warm. Wonder if he will go one inning instead of the original plan for two…
Walk, single, wild pitch, RBI single by Soto and the game is tied. Strikeout, walk and Reyes pulled at 24 official pitches with the bases loaded and one out.

Is anyone able to watch the game today? Was Reyes as bad as his line suggests? If so, was it basically just his command?
CFICT, Reyes was not good. He had a strikeout, but had control issues which also lead him leaving some fat 2 strike pitches up in the zone.
I just added the MLB app for this month for Spring Training games. For $25 it appears to be worth it.
They did not show a replay of where the ball landed, but it initially looked to me like Munoz’ 2-run homer bounced off the roof of the Marlins building in left. Yes, the wind is blowing a bit, but still, that was quite a blast. The broadcasters did not say a word about it. Munoz is definitely a post-hype player. If Carlson had done it, they would be screaming.

In a day of less-than-dominating pitching, Cecil has taken the lead, needing 29 pitches to get through a very long sixth inning in which he walked in one run and gave up another on a fielders choice. Nats back up, 7-6.
Cecil managed to get out of it with only one more run allowed. Cards trail 7-6. The Nats have outhit the Cards, 12 to 5.

He was bad. Control was off, but his stuff is not electric. He has a ways to go if he is going to make a contribution, but it’s not surprising considering how long he’s been rusting away.
