I assume Walker, Winn and Hence have all completed their physicals.
Does anyone actually KNOW this to be true?
    Heard anything along those lines?

from a MLBTradeRumors article by Steve Adams:

Taken together, it’s all a sobering reminder that the largest roadblock to return to regular-season play in any sport is not (and has not been) finances or length of season but the ongoing pandemic.

    I agree.
    Finances…very big, etc.
    Pandemic? HUGE

    from Dayn Perry, CBS:

players seem poised to approve the growth from 10 playoff teams to 16 for the next two seasons, and that of course increases the likelihood that the expanded playoff structure will be adopted permanently in the next collective bargaining agreement.

Hey BHC, here’s my draft system change for the new CBA:
allow for trading of draft picks.
surely adds excitement to the NBA and NFL drafts.
JMO but I think it is long overdue.

I may be wrong about no more UDFAs after seeing just now from an article by D Goold:

The Cardinals, by team policy, do not make their draft signings official until after a physical is completed. The team is waiting, for example, to announce a complete list of the undrafted players signed, though eight of them have already been confirmed by other sources.

of course right now we need to get the other 5 of our drafted 7 to sign a contract.
saved about $207,000 with Burleson and about $250,000 with Jones.
some of that will go to Bedell who still had some leverage, but not a whole lot. JMO.

sure there is TIME (calendar) to sign more but I guess they are done.

If they are not out there looking to sign any more, I could see a situation when a player agent calls THEM to gauge any interest the Cards might have.

    from D Goold:

Cardinals have signed their 70th overall pick, outfielder Alex Burleson, to a contract, and have finalized it for a below-slot bonus. A pitcher/outfielder for East Carolina, Burleson will focus on hitting with the Cardinals slot for the 70th overall pick is $906,800.

The Cardinals are working on an agreement with Mizzou pitcher Ian Bedell, and his bonus is expected to be for above slot because he had some leverage when it came to returning to the Tigers to enhance his draft stock.

here’s a little bit from D Goold while we wait for Brian’s expertise:

    NICK TROGRLIC-IVERSON, RHP, Gonzaga

A native of Oakville, Ontario, Trogrlic-Iverson transferred from an Arizona junior college to Gonzaga before his junior season. He spent the previous two seasons between the rotation and relief for the Zags, and overall had 30 games (11 starts) to go with one save and 61 strikeouts in 89 innings pitched. This season, in 21 1/3 innings, he walked only three batters and saw an uptick in strikeout rate with 20. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound righthander was 4-3 with a 5.05 ERA in his junior year.
