“Onyxgem wrote……’Easy he has been great in, 14,15 and 17…he has been a great pitcher for us this year.'”

    Great in 2014?????

I guess you didn’t watch the same Cardinal team in 2014 like I did. Granted he got 45 saves but he came within a whisker of blowing a TON of them. Am I the only one that remembers how many games he almost blew???

However, he has not almost blown “millions” like Rat believes
    ——————————————————————————–

Oh yes he has Forsch. Oh yes he has. You are flat out wrong here. He has come oh so close to blowing saves many times. I’ve watched them with my own eyes many, many times over the last 3-4 years.

    Can you say 2014???

Heyward is now hit by a pitch. Cubs with bases loaded and one out and Avila up.

Avila singles and the Cubs win 6-5.

    Unbelievable………

BlueJays about to blow it against the Cubs. 5-3 Toronto in the bottom of the 10th. Schwarber strikes out but reaches on a WP and then Zobrist singles. 1st and 3rd, nobody out, Rizzo up.

Schwarber scores on another WP, now 5-4, nobody out, Rizzo up with Zobrist on 2nd.

Rizzo grounds to 2nd for the 1st out, Zobrist now at 3rd with one out. Still 5-4 Toronto.

And now Baez strikes out on a ball in the dirt but Toronto doesn’t throw to first. Now 1st and 3rd, still one out. How many outs are the BlueJays going to give the Cubs?????

Lucas was hit hard in his MLB debut.

Do we have any – ANY – relievers that are even remotely reliable???

Martinez, along with all of his antics, needs to be on top of his game tonight to keep from losing ground. Cubs have a 7-4 lead in the last of the 8th at Wrigley against Toronto.

And Rosenthal has almost blown a million other saves. He’s escaped by a whisker a million times. Stats don’t tell the entire story here in any way, shape, or form.

BEST RELIEVERS THE CARDINALS HAVE EVER HAD???

    YGTBSM???

A million times he has come in and been totally ineffective. At times he’s gotten the job done by a whisker and at times he’s blown it for us. No consistency at all. Nobody, if looking at the complete picture, can deny that he’s an accident waiting to happen.

WHY is Wainwright only throwing in the low-mid 80s? Is there something wrong with him???

Reds win 13-10. Chance to gain a game for the Cardinals and the Brewers, and the Pirates.

I honestly hope he’s okay. Nobody wants to see anybody injured.

But, having said that, we have two relievers that should only be in the game if we are ahead or behind by the score of 10-1 in the 8th.

I saw that Pads. I wondered if the Cubs would make it back. Its now 12-10 Reds in the top of the 8th. C’mon Redlegs, pull this one out!

    Onyxgem,
You must be a newbie to Cardinal baseball. Unless you are one of the old posters that’s returned with a new ID. Anyway, I’ve said the same thing about Molina and Rosenthal for years. And you probably need to pay a little more attention to what CardsRedSox4Ever told you above.

I agree 14NyquisT. See my earlier post about Molina not being able to catch throws to home anymore. That throw last night, a good high school catcher could have caught it and made the tag.

I hate to say it, but I have ALWAYS thought Molina has been over-rated.

On a good note, the Reds have stormed back from a 6-1 deficit to tie the game 6-6. They are in the bottom of the 8th at Wrigley now.

And what is up with Molina anymore? Why cant he catch a ball on a play at the plate? Has anybody else noticed this? He seems unable to come up with the ball on the throw home. Sometimes its a difficult hop but the play at the plate tonight was right there for him and he missed it.

Whats wrong with him that he cant come up with the throws to home???

You got that right Mike. He has been bad tons and TONS of times over the last 3-4 years. He has pitched poorly on many occasions and other occasions he has pitched poorly and got the job done by a whisker. They simply cant keep running him out there knowing its a crapshoot as to which one they are going to get, Jekyll or Hyde.

Cards lose 5-4 on a walkoff double off the green monster.

WHY OH WHY OH WHY OH WHY is that worthless dud Rosenthal even on this team???????

I hope and pray he never – EVER – takes the mound for the Cardinals again. He has done this a million times over the last 3-4 years. Came in and gave up a homerun and a walk. Granted the other relievers failed too but Rosenthal got it all started.

    GET RID OF HIM NOW!!!!!!!

He thought Bradley was going to catch the ball so he went back to tag and then had to turn and head home. About like the previous play with Voit at 3rd. He was almost out at home too. The Cardinals came oh so close to having a runner at 3rd thrown out at home on a single to center two plays in a row. Imagine that.

Reds hang on – barely – to beat the Cubs 2-1. Jay and Avila strikeout with runners at the corners and one out to end it.

Redbirds got a break last night as the Reds hang on to beat the Cubs 2-1. A 2-0 Reds lead heading to the 9th, the Cubs plate a run with 1st and 3rd and one out. But Jay and Avila strikeout to end it. Redbirds stay 1.5 games behind.

Just thought I would throw this out there. I know Molina has gotten a lot of big hits over the years for the Redbirds, but……how many times has he killed rallies by hitting into a doubleplay? I was yelling at the TV during the game last night to bunt when he came up and boom, triple play.

And Stanton crushed another long homerun tonight. #44 on the year. Six games in a row.

He’ll look good in a Cardinal uniform.

I just read this article on Yahoo! What are you waiting for Moz and Girsch, go get him! Weaver, Grichuk, Piscotty, Sierra, whoever, just go and get him – NOW!

The only untouchable, in my mind, is Alex Reyes.
