Update: 10-0 Pittsburgh heading to the bottom of the 1st.
And I just saw where the Brewers hit the Yankees with a four spot in the first. 4-0 Milwaukee in the 2nd.
Hope we get out of the top of the 1st unscathed against the Mets.
I saw that Logan. AND the Pirates are still batting.
Man, them Flubs aint what they are last year. They might eventually get it together but they are about to be two games UNDER .500 at the All Star Break.

How much longer are the Cardinals going to tolerate Martinez and his antics if he doesn’t start to pitch better? That goofing around all the time is all well and good – if you are performing and the team is doing well. But that act gets old in a hurry if things aren’t going well. Case in point, Brandon Phillips and the Reds.

Voit having a good game so far. He has homered and doubled, knocking in three runs, and the Redbirds lead 3-2 in the 5th.

Well, two errors by the Cardinals (Carpenter and Voit) and two homeruns by Stanton and this one is just about over.
6-0 Miami in the top of the 2nd. I tell ya, watching this team play is about sickening anymore. Carpenter cant hit and he cant play defense. Although it was sort of a tough hop on the ball hit to him.

Maybe the All Star Break will do this team a lot of good. Maybe things will turn around the 2nd half and people will start to perform more in line with their career norms.
If so, we still have a chance at the division unless the Cubs all of a sudden take off.

Ok, thanks, not a problem. I didn’t even know there was a Page 2 yet.
That looks like a heavy right-handed lineup against Scherzer but at this point I guess that’s the best we have. After seeing the lineup I might take the Over on the 20 strikeouts that Casper and Deshaies talked about.

Carlos Martinez (6-6) vs. Max Scherzer (9-5)
Didn’t see a game thread yet so I thought I would start one. The Cubs announcers were talking about the over/under on strikeouts in this one and figured it would be 20. I’ll take the under on that one.
Looking forward to tonights game. Going to have my chicken on the grill, some homemade ice cream, and a cigar afterwards. Then after the game an episode of Barnaby Jones. Life is good.

Rosenthal either needs to go or be converted into a starter. An accident waiting to happen in short relief.
From the boxscore it looks like Matheny yanked Rosenthal out of the game in the 9th with two outs. Is that correct?
The Cubs lost to the Reds again today. 5-3 Cincinnati the final. The Cubs are back to being under .500 and we are into July.
Hard to imagine, but that’s a good thing.
